Pastoral As A Media Spectacle

Media spectacle is a typical representation of media society.Video has become an important form of media spectacle in the self-media field because of its high degree of reproduction,strong expressive force and great influence.The video blogger "Li Ziqi" has become a leader in the field of self-media with the production of high-quality content,telling pastoral stories by using modern media technology,and creating idyllic pastoral spectacle.In this paper,narrative analysis is used to make a case study of the images produced by Li Ziqi,a phenomenal video blogger,to discuss what strategies Li Ziqi used to tell the stories in the production process of media products,and finally what kind of spectacle was produced,trying to reveal the production process of the spectacle from the micro level and explore the deep meaning behind it.The paper mainly includes four parts:The first chapter comprehensively combs the research background,literature review,research purpose and significance,research methods and related theories.The second chapter analyzes the narrative content of "Li Ziqi" video,and finds that "Li Ziqi" video focuses on food production and handicraft production,and tells the story of rural daily life around the two themes of returning to the pastoral and taking food as the basis,shaping the flat characters of pastoral dwellers,creating the pastoral scene of poetic habitation,and narrativing repetitive and ritualized pastoral daily life through typified plots.The third chapter studies the narrative strategy of "Li Ziqi" video.It is pointed out that "Liziqi" video follows the principles of "condensation" and "beautification",combines the linear structure of prose culture,multiple narrative perspectives and relaxed narrative rhythm,and uses audio-visual language to construct image time and space,thus realizing the defamiliarization of daily life and the artistic conception of real time and space,and finally presents the narrative characteristics of spectacle,created an idyllic rural spectacle.The fourth chapter analyzes the media spectacle created by "Liziqi" video.It is considered that the ecological environment spectacle,pastoral daily spectacle and female celebrity spectacle created by "Liziqi" video are essentially consumption spectacles driven by symbolic consumption,which will make the countryside other and self-spectacle to gain more attention,and make people become the objects of new capital control and exploitation under the condition of subservient consumption.In the conclusion and discussion part,the full text is summarized,and on this basis,the enlightenment to the rural cultural communication and the economic development of online celebrity is discussed,and the shortcomings of this research are reflected.
