Airborne omnidirectional communication antenna is an essential component for communication of aircraft.As a radio frequency aperture,antenna must be in touch with free space,which is bad for the radar stealth of it.However,as a radiation device,the balance between radiation and scattering is difficult to achieve.Balance design of airborne communication antenna between radiation and scattering is main content of this thesis.In this thesis,A new process of balance design is proposed.In the process,radiation and scattering performance of antenna should be considered at the same time during design so as to achieve the balance of them.This thesis firstly proposes a UWB embedded airborne omni-directional communication antenna after doing research on miniaturization and broadband methods and RCS reducing methods.The proposed design uses a variety of miniaturization and broadband method such as top loading and short circuit column,the sleeve structure,medium load and lumped resistance.The design satisfies the requirements of airborne communication.Finally,the design has a bandwidth over 4 times with a profile under0.0618(6).Compared with the traditional airborne omnidirectional communication antenna,it is proved that the proposed antenna also has advantages in scattering.Based on the proposed antenna,an airborne omnidirectional communication antenna is designed in this thesis to meet the requirements of new generation of aircraft.The balance design of radiation and scattering performance of antenna is successfully carried out based on the process of balance design between radiation and scattering and the application of antenna shape modification technology.What's more based on the antenna scattering formula,a scattering reduction method without affecting the radiation performance is proposed for the antenna in-band scattering.Finally,the antenna realize a bandwidth over 26%,with a omnidirectional gain lager than-3d Bi,and has a low RCS form X1 band to X6 band which is over 40 times.We fabricate one,which proves it suitable for stealth aircraft.
