With the rapid development of wireless communication,There are higher and higher requirements for the performance of the RF system.As an important part of the RF system,the power amplifier has higher requirements for its bandwidth and efficiency.In the development of future communication systems,in many cases,the RF system is required to adapt to a variety of different application backgrounds and implement different functions.This requires the RF system to be multi-functional,and as an important part of the RF system,the performance of the RF power amplifier will directly affect the performance of the entire transmitter.Reconfigurable power amplifiers are well adapted to the needs of future communication systems,so reconfigurable technology has become a research hotspot in recent years.However,the recent research on reconfigurable power amplifiers is immature.Most of them are narrow-band discrete reconfigurable or multiband power amplifiers.At present,there is no wide-band continuous reconfigurable power amplifier.Based on this research status,this article designs two broadband continuous reconfigurable power amplifiers,their working bandwidth covers 2-10 GHz,the bandwidth reaches five octave bands,and achieves higher power addition efficient.than traditional distributed power amplifiers.The following is the main work content.This article first studies the more commonly used reconfigurable devices in reconfigurable technology.The main forms of reconfigurable power amplifiers are divided into two types,off-chip hybrid integration and monolithic integration.In the form of off-chip reconfigurable power amplifier circuits,commonly used reconfigurable devices include PIN,varactor diodes,MEMS switches,and so on.In the reconfigurable power amplifier circuit of monolithic integrated circuit,MOSFET switch is basically used to realize the reconfigurable matching network.And further study the realization of reconfigurable matching network.After conducting the research on the reconfigurable matching network,this thesis studies the design of the broadband continuous reconfigurable power amplifier.The MOSFET switch is introduced into the input,inter-stage,and output matching network,and the switch is controlled by its gate voltage.change the equivalent inductance value in the matching network,thereby changing its working frequency band,and introduce broadband matching in the matching network,so that each working frequency band can be covered.Finally,a broadband continuous reconfigurable power amplifier of 2-10 GHz is realized,the output power is basically greater than 34 d Bm,and the power added efficiency is basically greater than 30%.In order to improve the performance,this article has made improvements on the basis of the previous amplifier.Through research,it is found that the switch tube in the output matching network has a greater impact on performance,so the synthesized transformer network is used as the output matching network of the power amplifier.The switch tube is omitted,and the performance of the power amplifier is further improved.The improved broadband continuous reconfigurable power amplifier realizes the output power is basically greater than 35 d Bm,and the power added efficiency is basically greater than40%.In summary,this article realizes a high-efficiency broadband continuous reconfigurable power amplifier through an innovative structure,which has a certain improvement in power consumption,cost,and efficiency compared to the traditional distributed broadband amplifier.
