In recent years,China's mobile game market tends to be saturated,which makes game quality and player experience gradually become the focus of game enterprises.The first time user experience of a game is closely related to its revenue level,which directly affects the willingness of players to continue playing the game.In this regard,based on the gameplay evaluation theory,the article puts forward a new evaluation method for the first time user experience of MMORPG mobile games,and takes Yimengjianghu as an example to conduct a case study.Firstly,this paper combs the literature on the relevant research of first time user experience,including the definition of relevant concepts and the overview of evaluation methods of first time user experience,the overview of gameplay evaluation theory and the overview of evaluation methods of game experience.Secondly,the article investigates the first time user experience of MMORPG mobile games,determines the specific scheme of the investigation through test preparation and pre-test,observes,interviews and records the experience process of players through questionnaire survey and usability test in the formal test stage,and obtains the first time user experience evaluation of players through the gameplay evaluation questionnaire,which covers the four dimensions of gameplay – immersibility,joviality,playability and replayability.Thirdly,based on the observation and interview records in the research process,the article makes a cluster analysis on the first time user experience evaluation of players in terms of usability,gameplay,artistry,innovation and culturality through KJ method,compares the analysis results with the results of the gameplay evaluation questionnaire so as to verify the effectiveness of using the gameplay evaluation questionnaire in the first time user experience evaluation of MMORPG mobile games,and summarizes the design opportunities of the onboarding phase of this game.Finally,taking the interactive interface design as the starting point,the article optimizes the interactive interface under some game scenes,proves the effectiveness of the design practice through the design verification,and provides design suggestions for the experience design of the onboarding phase of MMORPG mobile games based on the above research.The article provides a new evaluation method for the first time user experience of MMORPG mobile games,and summarizes the experience design suggestions on the onboarding phase,which provides theoretical experience for the follow-up game design research,and provides reference value for the design practice of similar games to improve the first time user experience through the interface optimization design of the onboarding phase of Yimengjianghu.
