Research On The Characteristics And Communication Efficiency Of Nuclear Industry Reports ——Taking People’s Daily As An Example

Nuclear energy publicity helps to correct the public’s misunderstanding of the nuclear energy industry,win public trust and support of the people,and promote the long-term development of the nuclear energy industry.However,both data surveys and academic studies have shown that,there have some problems in the publicity of the nuclear energy industry,such as lack of systematicness,lack of publicity on the value and significance of nuclear energy,and popular science activities are only conducted in a few places.Therefore,this study takes the People’s Daily as the object,by analyzing the content and characteristics of nuclear energy reports,we hope to discover the orientation of nuclear energy reports and the possible impact on the public,we also hope to propose new strategies for nuclear energy publicity in the future.This study selects 1754 reports on the nuclear industry in the People’s Daily from1949 to 2021.First of all,we draw the diachronic characteristics of the nuclear industry reports in the People’s Daily by means of content analysis.Then this study constructs the evaluation index system of communication efficiency of nuclear industry reports,and obtains the intuitive evaluation of communication efficiency of nuclear industry by fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.By measuring depth,breadth,intensity and report tone,we find that the scores of communication breadth and depth were at the general level,while the communication intensity and emotional tendency were at a good level.Taking “very good,good,general,bad,very bad” as the evaluation language,it is found that the current nuclear industry communication efficiency is not very satisfactory,and to a certain extent,it constructs a negative and unbalanced nuclear industry development prospect,which may have a negative impact on the public.Including the following aspects :（1）The number of positive reports is the largest,and the number of negative reports is the second;（2）Official discourse is dominant and folk discourse is weak;（3）Too much emphasis on nuclear power and other subjects rarely involved;（4）Lack of normalization reports,stage characteristics are obvious;（5）Lack of in-depth interpretation and interest to be improved.In order to promote the sustainable development of China’s nuclear energy industry,this study suggests that the popularization of nuclear science should be taken as the focus of the People’s Daily in the future period,so as to help the public construct a scientific and rational cognition of nuclear energy.Including the following :（1）Properly report the negative news of the nuclear energy industry and play its positive function;（2）Balancing official and private discourse;（3）Report various news topics to comprehensively and systematically introduce the development of nuclear industry,especially strengthen the application of nuclear energy in other civil fields other than electric power;（4）Increase the number of reports to form a normalized and long-term nuclear industry publicity model;（5）Pay attention to the improvement of quality and enhance the depth and interest of media publicity reports in the nuclear energy industry.
