Charitable donations has become an indispensable aspect of corporate sustainable operations, and the research on it can consider ambidexterity in order to in-depth explore its antecedents and results. In previous studies on charitable donations, most of them did not take into account the ambidexterity of these variables, regardless of their antecedents, itself, and results. The ambidexterity is not only reflected in corporate leaders, but also in corporate organizational structure, and will have an impact on corporate operations and behaviors, such as corporate charitable donations, which will further impact the corporate performance. Therefore, studying charitable donations from the perspective of ambidexterity can better understand the inherent antecedent and results of charitable donations, and then guide corporate and government to understand charitable donations more comprehensively and do charitable donations.Firstly, the thesis returns to the literature reviews on the antecedents and results of charitable donations, and then analyzes the interaction mechanism between the antecedents and results of charitable donations from the perspective of ambidexterity based on theories related to charitable donations, and analyzes the moderating effect of the degree of corporate internationalization to them, too.Secondly, based on theoretical analysis, the thesis uses the Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed companies from 2009 to 2018 as the research object. After studying the previous research, the relevant variables are collected and sorted to study the ambidexterity of corporate, charitable donations and corporate performance. Finally, considering that under the current trend of economic globalization, the internationalization of corporate has becoming more and more popular,so the thesis uses the degree of internationalization to examine its moderating effect on the above variables. There are three conclusions of this thesis.Firstly, the ambidexterity of corporate will positively improve the charitable donations. When the exploitation ability is obvious, the donations made matches the expected charitable donations well. When the exploration ability is obvious, the donations made matches the unexpected charitable donations well.Secondly, charitable donations not only improve corporate performance but also promote the stability of performance.Expected charitable donations is conducive to the stability of performance cause it can reduce operating risks, while unexpected charitable donations can improve corporate performance due to mutual benefits.Thirdly, the internationalization of corporate increases operating risks, which have different effects on charitable donations and performance. The operating pressure of corporate increases with the deepening of internationalization,in order to alleviate this operating pressure, corporate will make more charitable donations. And,as the degree of internationalization deepens, corporate resources are diluted, then risks increase, and corporate performance and the stability of performance will be weakened. The enlightenment of this thesis is as below: Firstly, for corporate managers, they can better understand the micro-formation mechanism of charitable donations, and make suitable charitable donation strategies for corporate development according to their own characteristics,so that the corporate can clarify the charitable donations' role and its boundary in the different stages of internationalization.Secondly, for government managers, they not only need to guide corporate to make suitable charitable donations strategy to match its process of internationalization, but also really provide policy support to corporate based on actual conditions and assist corporate to get good business environment.
