Among the numerous particle size detection methods:the laser method,microscopic image method,screening method,sedimentation method,ultrasonic method,etc.all have their respective advantages,such as rapid laser method,direct microscopic image method,simple sieving method,etc.But there are also some drawbacks,for example,the high price and inconvenient online measurement,etc.still waiting for researchers to improve.At present,there is little involvement in the field of on-line particle size measurement.The market for this advanced technology is almost monopolized by foreign countries.This article shows a new way of measuring the particle size of talc-ultrasonic sedimentation method by combining ultrasound method and sedimentation method from multi-angle measuring of talcum powder particles.Measured seven different particle sizes(3um,4um,5um,10um,23um,37um,44um)of talc particles by the phenomenon between ultrasound amplitude and sample size.Researched the feasibility of the method by measuring large particles(10um,23um,37um,44um).Researched the resolution of the method by measuring small particles(3um,4um).Through the actual measurement of the particles(4um,5um)after grinding with different materials,the irregular final settling velocity caused by different materials was analyzed.The amplitude t-A curve of each particle size as a function of time under this experimental apparatus is plotted to measure unknown particles.The main content of this article:1.Introduction of related theory of various particle size measurement methods(1)Research background and significance of the paper(2)Using ultrasonic method and sedimentation method in particle size detection and related theoretical knowledge(3)Introduction of the ultrasound’s physical quantities and the intrinsic relationship between them.Introduction of Stokes settlement formula,etc.2.Introduction of experimental instruments and principles(1)Use of Ultrasonic Transmitting Receiver and introduction of various parameters(2)Comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of straight and oblique probes in different working modes(3)Experimental verification and data calculation of ultrasonic propagation path in liquid3.Detailed steps and explanations of the experimental process and data processing(1)Introduction of the experimental principle(2)The plot of time-domain plot t-A curve for each particle amplitude(3)Irregularity of experimental data caused by different raw materials(4)Discussion of the lower limit problem and the resolution problem under this methodThe purpose of this article is to use a quick and easy method to measure the particle size of the talc after the grinding process in the factory to ensure the consistency of the product particle size and maximize the product quality.Qualitative analysis of the t-A curves of particles of various sizes under the condition of the experimental apparatus gave a general experimental conclusion.For a short time to monitor large particle size has a certain practical value.Expecting this experiment to provide method and idea for the particle size measurement researcher.
