Species Diversity Of Amphibians And Reptiles In Hubei Province And Its Relationship With Environmental Factors

The investigation,cataloging,and establishment of information systems in species diversity are the hotspots of biodiversity research today,which can provide a fundamental scientific basis for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.At the same time,the distribution of species diversity and its causal mechanism has always been a burning question in ecology.Based on the results of the field survey and published literature data,this paper sorts out the list of amphibians and reptiles in Hubei Province.According to statistical results,there are 86 amphibian species belonging to 33 genera,11 families,and 2 orders,94 reptile species belonging to 50 genera,20 families,and 2 orders in Hubei Province.Predicting the distribution of amphibian and reptile species diversity in Hubei Province based on the survey results,and the distribution pattern was found to be highest in the western region,followed by the eastern region,and lowest in the central region.Among them,the southwestern region is a hot spot for the distribution of the amphibian and reptile species diversity in the Hubei province.In view of the above results,we combined temperature,precipitation,altitude,vegetation,and social factors to explore the relationship between the environmental factors and the distribution of the amphibian and reptile species diversity.The results indicate that the amphibian species diversity was best explained by the regression model consisting of the temperature annual range in environmental factors(R 2=0.15,P=0.000),while the regression model composed of elevation in environmental factors(R2=0.08,P=0.000)has the highest explanation for reptile species diversity in the single factor correlation analysis.In the multi-factor correlation analysis,the regression model consisting of a combination of the environmental factors selected in this research has the highest degree of explanation for amphibian species diversity,indicating that the distribution pattern of its diversity in Hubei Province is influenced by the combined effect of different types of environmental factors.While the regression model composed of precipitation type factor has the highest degree of explanation for reptile species,indicating that the distribution pattern of reptile species diversity in Hubei Province is mainly affected by precipitation.There are a number of environmental factors associated with species diversity,some of which are difficult to collect and quantify.These factors with the greatest impact identified in this paper only represent the selected environmental factors.There may be environmental factors with a higher degree of explanation,which are not discussed here and need to be further discussed.In accordance with the above results can provide feasible suggestions for the delineation of amphibian reptile biodiversity hotspots with the conservation and restoration of biodiversity in Hubei Province.
