In the research of predicting radio wave propagation characteristics and wireless communication coverage,it is difficult to obtain a large amount of simulation data due to the poor interactivity of the current electromagnetic wave simulation software.In this paper,the Parabolic Equation(PE)of radio wave propagation is established based on Maxwell equations and the topographic features of the propagation environment.The effect of landscape and buildings on the propagation characteristics of radio waves is studied by Split-Step Fourier Transform(SSFT)using Matlab tools and compared with four electromagnetic wave simulation software to verify the effectiveness of the method.The main work of the paper is as follows:1.For the problem of electromagnetic wave propagation simulation,this paper establishes the fluctuation equations of electromagnetic wave propagation from Maxwell equations,studies the approximate form of parabolic equations,and solves the parabolic equations by SSFT numerical algorithm,explores the influence of terrain topography and buildings on electromagnetic wave propagation characteristics,and compares with different electromagnetic wave simulation software such as Petool,Matlab and Win Prop.Moreover,a Matlab-based user interaction interface is developed in this section.2.For the needs of the laboratory research project,ICS Telecom software simulation is used to obtain FM broadcast monitoring coverage by setting up FM broadcast transmitting antennas at the locations of city,county and district people’s government buildings in Yunnan Province and Henan Province,and to give the calculation method of FM broadcast coverage,and to investigate the environmental factors affecting FM broadcast coverage by comparing FM broadcast coverage in Yunnan Province and Henan Province.Finally,the data simulated by ICS Telecom software are compared with the FM broadcast data simulated by SSFT algorithm.3.For the source localization problem,the Proman module of Win Prop is used to simulate the wave propagation characteristics of the transmitter to obtain the electromagnetic field strength data to build a field strength fingerprint set.The obtained data are used to train a Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN)model,which is finally compared with the SSFT algorithm to simulate the propagation characteristics of radio waves under the blockage of multiple buildings.
