The Study On Climate Change Information Disclosure

In recent years,climate change has become a hot issue of global concern.People began to realize that industrial activities not only bring convenience to life.More investors and stakeholders began to require enterprises to quantify their impact on climate change,as well as the potential risks and opportunities brought by climate change to enterprises.In this context,the TCFD framework developed by the climate related financial disclosure working group(TCFD)regulates the disclosure of climate change information.It is a highly recognized disclosure framework in the world.The UK attaches great importance to the impact of climate change on enterprise development,and also requires listed companies in the UK to disclose climate related information in accordance with the requirements of TCFD on December 21,2020.In contrast,domestic climate change information disclosure is still in the stage of continuous development.Although China has relevant policies in greenhouse gas emission reporting,it is only limited to pilot industries.At present,climate change disclosure has not been enforced,and there is a lack of a unified framework for climate change information disclosure.This paper mainly adopts the method of text analysis.Firstly,it analyzes the overall climate change information disclosure of the thermal power industry,and understands the overall disclosure form and content of the industry;Secondly,focusing on the selected cases,the framework and content of climate change information disclosure of Datang Power Generation and SSE are described and analyzed in detail;Finally,the disclosure contents of Datang Power Generation and SSE company are grouped and analyzed to obtain the differences between Datang Power Generation and SSE company in climate change information disclosure,and then put forward some opinions on climate change information disclosure of thermal power generation industry.Through text analysis,there are still some problems in the climate change information disclosure of thermal power industry,such as the lack of quantitative data,the lack of mandatory disclosure requirements and standards,the obvious positive tendency of disclosure content and the lack of external special audit.This paper puts forward improvement suggestions on the climate change information disclosure of thermal power generation industry from three aspects: industry management,policy guidance and external audit.Promote the formulation of standard climate change information disclosure standards in China and help achieve the dual carbon goal.
