| Virtual plant are the embodiment of the interdisciplinary application of computer graphics,botany and biology,play an important role in the analysis of planting,plant classification,and plant identification.Plant leaf modeling has always been an important research content of virtual plant simulation technology.As part of the static structure of plant organs,leaves are in extremely significant.Due to their diverse appearance characteristics and complex species,it is challenging to build a visual model of plant leaves.Leaf contour edges are the main morphological features of leaves.This paper proposes two methods for extracting plant leaf edges:(1)Firstly,extract the shape information such as the aspect ratio and circularity of the leaves according to the actual leaf image,and determine the parameters of the initial rectangle;apply the deformation function to the generated rectangular plane to simulate the oblong,ellipse,oval and obovate leaves.(2)For more accurate simulation the leaves,a generation algorithm combining Bezier curve and mono-linear surface is proposed.By obtaining the point coordinates on the leaf edge curve,Conversely calculate Bezier’s control points,and then substitute the curve equation into the formula of the mono-linear surface to generate the leaf edge.To research sawtooth feature based on leaf shape,a simulation method of the leaf edge sawtooth based on deformation is proposed.First according to the type of the profile information of the blade,such as the type of sawtooth,the direction of the sawtooth,the density and height of the sawtooth,etc.;use the sine curve function and its combination to re-deform the blade edge to simulate circular,pointed,straight and tapered sawtooth;then changing the direction of the sawtooth to make different effects;Add sawtooth to the leaf shape plane parameter equation,finally the leaf veins were generated by scanned circular curve trajectory or cylindrical deformation,to complete the blade model.Compared with the real images,this method can quickly and simply indicate the shape of the edge serrations of different types of plant leaves,maintain the original contour characteristics of plant leaves,and reduce the complexity of leaf model construction.A new idea for the study of virtual plant leaves and sawtooth is expounded,which has certain practical significance and development prospects. |
