As the fourth important engine of national economic growth, the mid-southern Liaoning urban agglomerations is not only Liaoning Province, but also the largest and most developed economic core area in Northeast China. With the improvement of economy and the advancement of urbanization, the contradiction between resource development and ecological environment protection is becoming more and more serious. It is of great significance to regional spatial planning and promoting sustainable development for effective and accurate evaluation of regional urbanization process and its ecological effects.Firstly, this thesis combs the research methods of monitoring the urbanization process, and finds that combined with luminous remote sensing data and land use data,it is more complete to monitor the urbanization process from three aspects: urbanization level, construction land change and landscape pattern;Secondly, the ecological effects brought by urbanization, namely habitat quality, are evaluated based on the invest model, and understand the change trend and spatial distribution characteristics of habitat quality of mid-southern Liaoning urban agglomerations; Finally,a variety of human activity indicators,socio-economic indicators, natural factors and landscape pattern indicators are integrated to explore the influencing factors and spatial heterogeneity of habitat quality. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)From 1995 to 2020,the urbanization level of mid-southern Liaoning urban agglomerations has increased significantly, showing a pattern of “low in the East and high in the west”.The total amount of night light, compound night light index, construction land area, comprehensive index of land use degree and human disturbance degree have increased.Among them, the spatial distribution of compound night light index, comprehensive index of land use degree and human disturbance degree was basically the same, showing a pattern of "low in the East and high in the west".There are also differences in the level of urbanization among cities.Shenyang and Dalian have the fastest development and the highest level of urbanization. They are the main power sources for the urban development of mid-southern Liaoning urban agglomerations.(2)From 1995 to 2020,the habitat quality of mid-southern Liaoning urban agglomerations decreased, and the spatial distribution was opposite to the level of urbanization, showing a pattern of "high in the East and low in the west".The habitat quality index decreased by 0.0059,showing a spatial distribution pattern of "high in the East and low in the west".The terrain had a great impact on the spatial distribution of habitat quality, and the habitat quality index increased with the increase of terrain potential gradient. The spatial aggregation of habitat quality and habitat degradation degree of mid-southern Liaoning urban agglomerations were strong, but the spatial distribution of habitat quality was further dispersed, and the spatial distribution of habitat degradation index had a further agglomeration trend.(3)Urbanization indicators: CNLI,comprehensive index of land use degree, human interference degree, and natural factors: slope and DEM were the main factors affecting the spatial distribution of habitat quality.CNLI,comprehensive degree of land use and human disturbance were negatively correlated with habitat quality in space, and the negative impact was gradually weakened;Slope and DEM were positively correlated with habitat quality, and the positive impact was enhanced.
