With the continuous development and iteration of the information age,the development of artificial intelligence is receiving more and more attention from people. There has been a lot of research on the difference between artificial intelligence and human intelligence. As a computer scientist and cognitive scientist,Melanie Michel has been exploring the similarities and differences between artificial intelligence and human intelligence. She believes that there are many differences between artificial intelligence and human intelligence, which reflect the ability and complexity of artificial intelligence that has not yet fully simulated human intelligence.Firstly, human intelligence is a multifaceted ability that includes cognitive, emotional, creative, and flexible aspects, while artificial intelligence only simulates certain aspects of human intelligence.Secondly, human intelligence has the ability to self-awareness and self-reflection,while artificial intelligence lacks this ability. It only executes tasks based on programs and algorithms, without the ability to self-awareness and self-reflection.Once again, human intelligence has strong adaptability and flexibility, can adapt to various environments and situations, and can continuously learn and evolve. The learning and evolution of artificial intelligence are limited by training data and algorithms, making it difficult to achieve the adaptability and flexibility of human intelligence. Finally,Melanie Michel pointed out that the difference between artificial intelligence and human intelligence is also reflected in their working methods and principles.Human intelligence is built on biological principles such as neural networks, neurons, and synapses, while artificial intelligence is implemented based on computer programs and algorithms.Although there are similarities between artificial intelligence and human intelligence in certain aspects, the differences between them are also evident.Melanie Michel’s research provides important insights and insights for us to better understand the relationship between artificial intelligence and human intelligence. This paper is organized in the following logical order: Firstly,a detailed analysis of the dichotomy of the impact of artificial intelligence and human intelligence is conducted, mainly from the perspective of history and different schools of thought;Secondly,we will further discuss Melanie Michel’s concept of artificial intelligence, address machine learning, the "ability" and "inability" of artificial intelligence, and the "hard core" challenges faced by artificial intelligence. We will explore the theoretical characteristics of Melanie Michel’s thinking, namely, the ability to divide into three parts, the relationship with traditional theories, and the attitude of academia towards it.Finally, this article will further discuss the impact of Melanie Michel’s thoughts on academia and society, the challenges faced by artificial intelligence and human intelligence, and their prospects,in order to provide new ideas for better avoiding the possible negative impact of artificial intelligence on human intelligence.
