The history of human civilization and development is a vast historical picture of the relationship between man and nature. In recent years, the continuous deterioration of the ecological environment has become a major constraint on sustainable economic and social development, especially as the spread of the New Crown epidemic has posed a great threat to the lives of the Chinese people and people all over the world, making the ecological problem a primary issue in today’s society. The 1844 Philosophical Manuscripts on Economics as an important early work of Marx,is the initial formation of Marx’s thoughts on the relationship between man and nature, which not only expounds the philosophical and economic thoughts on alienated labour, but also extends to the relationship between man and nature through the analysis of the relationship between capital and alienated labour. It provides important ideas and guidance for us to promote the construction of a beautiful China and achieve the sustainable development of man and nature. In the Manuscripts,Marx critically inherited the two principles of "objecthood" from Hegel and Feuerbach, the national economic theories of Adam Smith and David Ricardo, and early communist doctrines to develop his own ideas on the relationship between man and nature. The Manuscript is an important work in which Marx’s ideas on the relationship between man and nature first took shape. Before the Manuscript was written,Marx had already discussed his ideas on the relationship between man and nature in his diploma thesis, his doctoral dissertation and his debate on the law of forest theft, highlighting Marx’s early concern with the relationship between man and nature. After the Manuscripts,Marx also elaborated on the relationship between man and nature in his Outline on Feuerbach,The German Ideology and Capital, bringing Marx’s ideas on the relationship between man and nature gradually to maturity.Marx’s thought on the relationship between man and nature,as expounded in the Manuscripts, takes the unity, opposition and reconciliation between man and nature as the main logical line, and incorporates the sensual activities of man, capitalist private ownership and communist ideas throughout, forming a complete logical system of Marx’s thought on the relationship between man and nature. The ideas on the relationship between man and nature in the Manuscripts provided an important source of thought for the development of Western ecological Marxism, and also laid the theoretical foundation for Xi Jinping’s thought on ecological civilisation. In a practical sense,it helps China to better realize the modernisation of a harmonious coexistence between man and nature on the road to Chinese-style modernisation, and also helps to build a fair and reasonable global ecological system with win-win cooperation.
