In the research process of the thermocapillary convection,due to the weak characteristics of the free surface oscillation in the thermocapillary convection and the limitations of optical measurement techniques,so study of free surface oscillation is stilling in the stage of theoretical exploration and preliminary experiments.This paper analyzed some present methods of measurement technology,and build a measurement system with high precision and better stability.Heterodyne interferometer and phase measurement system for measurement system for thermocapillary convection’s free surface oscillation characteristics,which is compared with the triangular laser displacement sensor,Michelson interferometer structure,light source method and other traditional thermocapillary convection measurement method,and it has higher measurement accuracy,lower theoretical error and some other measuring advantages.Based on the Michelson interferometer,and using the phase meter to classify the fringe information,the phase meter used in optical system,not only overcome the large amount of date,processing speed in the use of graphics processing method,what’s more the measurement accuracy is greatly improved.By using the phase meter,the phase change between two fringes can be divided into 360 pares,which can obtain higher measurement sensitivity and higher accuracy.The accuracy can reach nanometer level.The thermocapillary conversation is instability and it have weak oscillation phenomenon.Finally,the numerical simulation is carried out by using Fluent software.
