Scattering media can be seen everywhere in daily life, such as smoke, fog, turbid liquids, and polymer materials, etc. However, the existence of these scattering media makes the propagation of light rays complicated during the imaging process, resulting in blurry and degraded images of the target object obtained by the camera. In order to obtain effective information of the target object in the image, restoring the degraded image is necessary. This article proposes a new image restoration algorithm based on the deconvolution method to solve the problem of image quality degradation caused by scattering media. The algorithm combines blind deconvolution algorithm and non-blind deconvolution algorithm. In the case of unknown point spread function, the blind deconvolution algorithm is used to restore the degraded image to obtain the real point spread function and the approximately restored image. Then, the real point spread function is used in the regularized deconvolution algorithm of the non-blind deconvolution algorithm to restore the degraded image again,to obtain another approximately restored image. Finally, the two approximately restored images obtained by the two algorithms are fused together to achieve the restoration of the degraded image. In addition, this article analyzes the degradation effect of images under the influence of scattering media and conducts theoretical derivation and simulation experiments are carried out for the effectiveness of the proposed image restoration method. The experimental results show that the proposed image restoration method is feasible for restoring degraded images caused by scattering media. In this case, this article explores the principle and characteristics of the time-of-flight camera for image acquisition, provides factors and optical path settings for simulation experiments, and conducts experiments. The experimental results show that the restoration method proposed in this paper has certain effects on the restoration of degraded images under different scattering media influences, and the image restoration method proposed in this paper is superior to other image restoration methods under different conditions.Overall,by combining blind deconvolution algorithm and non-blind deconvolution algorithm, the algorithm proposed in this article achieves the restoration of degraded images caused by scattering media and provides an effective solution to the imaging problem through scattering media.
