Apparent competition,as a type of interspecific competition,is used to describe indirect interaction among prey species that share a common predator, where the prey species use the common predator as a mediator to generate negative interaction.Nowadays, apparent competition is considered to be the cause of the extinction of many species. When exotic prey is introduced, apparent competition between native and exotic prey species may lead to the extinction of native prey and hyperpredation, which will further lead to the loss of biodiversity and reduce the stability of the ecosystem. In this thesis,we introduce refuges into the apparent competition system and develop an apparent competition model with refuges.By theoretical analysis and numerical simulation,we first verify that the apparent competition between native and exotic prey still exists when the native prey has a refuge.Secondly,we use the PRCC method to investigate the critical parameters affecting the stable population sizes of native prey, exotic prey and predators, and analyse the effect of each parameter on the system. Finally, when compare the model with the classical apparent competition model,it is found that refuges can effectively protect the prey.
