| Paleontological fossils are one of the scientific bases for exploring the origin and evolution of organisms,paleogeography and ancient environment,etc.It is an important material for restoring the prehistoric life world and exploring the evolution of organisms,and is a valuable and non-renewable natural resource for human beings.Hezheng area is unique in terms of paleontological fossil resources and is known as the "hometown of paleontological fossils".Hezheng is located in the contiguous area of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and Loess Plateau,where the Cenozoic strata are developed and a complete set of Oligocene to Holocene strata are exposed,which are rich in paleontological fossils,and the paleontological fossils produced in Hezheng area have rich information of Qinghai-Tibet high uplift,which is an important material for studying the uplift evolution of QinghaiTibet Plateau.As the value of paleontological fossils continues to emerge,the problems of indiscriminate fossil mining,chaotic fossil market transactions and fossil smuggling in the Hezheng area have become increasingly serious.Therefore,there is an urgent need to study the conservation of paleontological fossil resources in Hezheng in order to provide a scientific basis for better conservation and utilization of paleontological fossil resources in Hezheng.This study takes Hezheng as the study area,and explores the conservation strategies of paleontological fossil resources in Hezheng on the basis of a full investigation of paleontological fossil resources in Hezheng to draw the following conclusions:(1)Hezheng paleontological fossil resources need further protection.There are 75 important paleontological fossil sites in Hezheng,with poor protection status,236 caves and pits,131 collapses,and the deepest cave up to 500 m.There are also problems such as serious fossil theft,shortage of funds for protection,low degree of resource development and utilization,and shortcomings in scientific research and popularization of science.(2)Characteristics of paleontological fossil resources in Hezheng.The Cenozoic strata in Hezheng are developed,and the strata mainly containing paleontological fossils include the Middle Miocene Laogou Formation,Late Miocene Liushu Formation and Morning Miocene He Wangjia Formation,which are distributed around Laogou in Sanhe Town,Hangtan-Thirty Mile Shop and other places,and around Sanhe.The fossil bones from Hezheng are mainly from the 13 Ma ago shovel-toothed elephant fauna and the 12 Ma ago three-toed horse fauna.The fossil localities in Hezheng are spatially dispersed and partially concentrated,with a high degree of concentration in the northern part.(3)Comprehensive analysis of fossil paleontological resources in Hezheng.The 75 paleontological fossil localities were quantitatively and comprehensively evaluated by three methods: hierarchical analysis,entropy power method and superiority-disadvantage solution distance method,and the results were used to classify one Class I,16 Class II,42 Class III and 16 Class IV localities.5 protected areas.Later,based on the situational analysis method,the advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and challenges of paleontological fossil resource conservation in Hezheng are analyzed in depth.(4)The conservation strategy of paleontological fossil resources in Hezheng is proposed.Based on the conservation zoning,specific control requirements and protection measures are proposed for different levels of protected areas.And a practical strategy for paleontological fossil resource management is proposed based on the situational analysis method.Based on the specific problems encountered in the conservation of fossil resources in Hezheng,specific suggestions are made in five aspects: management,ecology,development,specimen protection and popularization of science,to achieve the goal of protecting paleontological fossil resources and realizing the sustainable use of paleontological fossil resources in Hezheng. |
