With the rapid rise and development of the Internet of Things,cloud computing,big data,artificial intelligence and 5G,the rapid growth of all kinds of business information acquisition and transmission has become a new bottleneck and challenge.Optical fiber space division multiplexing technology is an effective method to solve the transmission capacity limitation of optical communication.In the realization of multi-core optical fiber space division multiplexing system,multi-core fiber fan in fan out technology plays a crucial role.The technology can optical coupling single multi-core fiber with multiple single-core fibers,realizing signal multiplexing and transmission.In this paper,a variety of multi-core fiber fan-in fan-out devices are fabricated by the fusion tapering method.The device preparation device is designed and the process flow and packaging method are optimized.Four reliability tests,including high temperature,high temperature and high humidity,low temperature storage and vibration,were carried out on sampled four-core fiber fan-in fan-out devices.The overall performance of the multi-core fiber fan-in fan-out device prepared by melting tapering process was evaluated statistically,and the reliability of the device was analyzed and fed back to the corresponding process in real time.A set of complete and reliable preparation technology of multi-core fiber fan-in fan-out device has been formed,and several types of multi-core fiber fan-in fan-out devices such as double-core,three-core,four-core,seven-core and 19-core have been prepared.Few-mode fiber is another choice to realize air division multiplexing.The key to realize the mode multiplexing function of few-mode fiber is how to realize mode control and mode conversion.Photon lamp,as an optical conversion device,realizes the fundamental mode excitation few-mode fiber mode of single-mode fiber mountain and realizes the conversion and control of multi-mode.A new method for the fabrication of photonic lanterns by doubleclad fiber is proposed,a 3×1 photonic lantern model is designed,and a 3×1 photonic lantern device is further studied and fabricated based on the perfect technology of multi-core fiber fan in and fan out by the fusion tapering method.The feasibility of this method is verified,which is of great significance for the development and application of photonic lantern-based few-mode fiber communication system.
