Digital coding metasurface combines digital coding design with reconfigurable technology,and has flexible dynamic regulation ability for space electromagnetic wave.Digital coding metasurface can be applied to control radar scattering characteristics,which not only realize the electromagnetic weak reflection characteristics like traditional microwave absorbing materials to avoid enemy radar detection;but also can simulate the electromagnetic scattering characteristics of specific targets to realize electromagnetic interference and deception.This paper focuses on the broadband digital coding metasurface and its application in adjusting radar scattering characteristics.The main contents and innovations are as follows:1.The electromagnetic regulation mechanism of active metasurface is studied,and a quasi-butterfly broadband metasurface element is proposed.The broadband phase regulation is realized by loading PIN diode and optimizing design.For different application scenarios,the radiation regulated unit-controllable reconfigurable reflecting element and the scattering regulated column-controllable reconfigurable reflecting element are designed respectively,and both phase control bandwidths are more than40%,which lays a foundation for the application research of digital coding metasurface.2.The dynamic control technology of beams based on digital coding metasurface is studied,and 20 × 20 X-band wideband digital coding metasurface phased array is designed and fabricated.The experimental results show that the phased array can realize two-dimensional beam scanning over a broad band.The scanning angle can reach ± 60 °,and the working bandwidth is more than 37.6%.3.The dynamic control technology of RCS based on digital coding metasurface is studied,and 20 × 20 X and Ku band wideband digital coding metasurface samples are designed and fabricated.The experimental results show that the sample can realize RCS dynamic regulation in a wide range.Based on the coding regulation and fast adjustable technology,the dynamic regulation of amplitude,position,speed and angle of traget one dimensional range profile is realized.The dynamic jamming and deception ability of radar one dimensional range profile based on digital coding metasurface is verified.
