| As the pearl of human wisdom, creativity has long attracted attention. As far back as the ancient Greeks, people marveled at the extraordinary achievements of creativity, and have great research interest in its nature and formation mechanism. However, due to the very limited technical means and cognitive level in the early stage, coupled with the implicit and complex nature of creativity itself,it is difficult for people to make scientific discussions on creativity. In the Middle Ages, the mystical and romantic interpretations of creativity have pushed it into the sacred realm beyond the reach of science. With the advent of the era of science and technology, creativity has increasingly become the focus of social attention, and many scientific research fields are trying to decode this "black box" of human cognition.Among them, computational creativity research has been placed high hopes by some foreign artificial intelligence scientists and philosophers.Computational creativity is a new branch of artificial intelligence research, which originally aims to design intelligent algorithms with independent innovation ability,so as to realize the ideal of machine simulation and even surpassing human beings. However,in recent years, researchers have derived a series of computational reduction schemes to explore creativity itself by using the existing results of computational creativity, which have a forward-looking theoretical value for the study of the mind and cognitive philosophy of creativity. The main purpose of this paper is to enrich our cognition of human creativity by examining Borden’s research results on computational creativity,so as to provide a reliable path for scientific interpretation of human creativity and realization of machine intelligence. At this point, the first task is to define the word creativity so as to clarify the research object. Therefore, the first part of this article mainly answers the following questions, what is creativity? What are the components involved? Is creativity just an innate ability or the prerogative of an elite few? Is creativity an independent mental ability? What are the patterns of creativity? Starting from the study of the etymology and origin of the word creativity,Borden reveals its development context and disenchantment and definition from the root, and divides different creativity styles according to different classification standards. In the second part of this paper, the author investigates the computational concept proposed by Boden, and makes an in-depth exploration of the mental map and conceptual space that form creativity. There are many concrete ways to achieve the restoration of creativity.Borden’s solution is to understand human creativity with the help of the computational concept of artificial intelligence. The process of analyzing and naturalizing the concept of creativity by means of calculation is actually a process of demystification and reduction.Borden said that anything produced by a computer must be based on its built-in computing principles, and the concept of computing can clearly analyze and explain the rules of production of various elements. The reason why we can understand the process of creativity through the concept of computation is that the human mind itself has such computational resources. The third part of this paper mainly discusses the difficult problems existing in the field of computational creativity. Are computers creative? Or rather,do they show any amount of creativity? Borden believes that this is an important philosophical question, which can also answer the question of the relationship between creativity and consciousness, intentionality, emotion and other mental abilities to a certain extent. In the fourth part of this paper, the author examines different types of computer models, and combines Borden’s comments to make some fundamental discussions on creative computational modeling and machine implementation.Since the field of artificial intelligence adopts the research strategy of practice and discussion,it is necessary to return to the concrete computer model when exploring the mental and cognitive problems of creativity with the help of AI. |
