Nuclear energy is a clean and efficient energy source that basically does not pollute the environment.As a developing country,China ’s demand for nuclear energy is also increasing.Uranium is the necessary fuel for the development of nuclear energy,so the exploitation of uranium mines is also increasing.In this process,a large amount of uranium tailings will be produced.The way to store uranium tailings is to build a uranium tailings reservoir to stack uranium tailings.There is a large amount of radioactive waste in uranium tailings reservoir.If an accident such as dam break occurs,it will cause great harm to residents and society.In view of the safety management of uranium tailings pond,this paper uses high-density electrical method and transient electromagnetic method to detect the distribution of overburden layer,the burial state of tailings at the bottom and the approximate position of bedrock after the treatment of uranium tailings pond.Combined with the two methods,the overall evaluation of uranium tailings pond is carried out to find out whether there are hidden dangers.After a large number of field measurements and indoor data processing and interpretation work in a typical uranium tailings reservoir,the following understandings are obtained :(1)The burial state of the bottom of the uranium tailings reservoir is good,and there is no leakage.(2)The treatment of the surface cover layer of the tailings reservoir is in good condition,and the cover layer is weak in some parts of the tailings reservoir area,resulting in a significant increase in radioactivity relative to other positions.This problem can be solved by landfilling the cover soil;(3)Determine the bottom interface of the tailings,that is,the approximate location of the underground bedrock of the uranium tailings reservoir;(4)Combined with the comprehensive interpretation of the two geophysical methods,it can be known that the overall condition of the uranium tailings pond is good and in a safe and stable state.The results of exploration of typical uranium tailings reservoir by high density electrical method and transient electromagnetic method show that geophysical method is feasible in identifying the underground geological structure of uranium tailings reservoir.The visualization of three-dimensional data of uranium tailings reservoir is realized,which provides practical reference for the safety management and stability evaluation of uranium tailings reservoir in the future.
