| Before flotation separation of medium-low grade grade phosphate rock, process mineralogy analysis of ore structure, mineral dissemination characteristics, and dissociation characteristics is a key research topic, which is crucial to increase flotation efficiency and reduce energy consumption. The medium-low grade calcium magnesium phosphate ore is used as the research object in this paper. The embedding feature of the main minerals in the raw ore are identified using conventional process mineralogy and industrial CT(X-Ray Computed Tomogram)scanning technology, and the results are compared and analysed. On the basis of the process mineralogical study, experimental studies were conducted to investigate the effect of dissociation characteristics on the flotation behavior of minerals at each grain level,as well as the effect of pure minerals at the micro and fine grain levels on the flotation rate,to clarify the effect of dissociation characteristics on the flotation effect at the coarse and fine grain levels, and then to propose recommendations for optimizing the flotation rate. The following are the study’s main findings:(1)The raw ore’s standard process mineralogy study reveals that it is a medium-low grade calcium magnesium phosphate ore with a simple mineral composition.Fluorapatite, dolomite, and quartz account for 52.68 percent,36.75 percent, and 7.84percent of the total. The three minerals’disseminated grain size relationships are isogranular, predominantly concentrated in+53–208μm;fluorapatite and dolomite, quartz are mainly disseminated, mosaic and wrapped mosaic relationship;P2O5 occurs in fluorapatite,Mg O occurs in dolomite, and Si O2 occurs in quartz.(2)Through the CT scanning of the raw ore,a three-dimensional visualization model was constructed and the analysis of the model shows that the particle size of the ore is mainly distributed in-600μm,and the particle size of the fluorapatite is mainly distributed in-400μm.Compared with the analysis results of the BPMA(BGRIMM Process Mineralogy Analyzer),it is found that the stereological error of the two-dimensional analysis results is corrected, and the CT scanning analysis results are more accurate. The three-dimensional visualization model can visually observe the types of conjoined organisms, providing guidance for subsequent mineral dissociation.(3)Flotation tests were performed on raw ore at a grinding fineness of 56.74percent to investigate the influence of the dissociation characteristics of the+150μm,-150+106μm,-106+75μm,-75+38μm,and-38μm particle size grinding products on flotation behavior. The loss of useful minerals from coarse-grained colloidal phosphate ore is primarily due to the influence of congeners, whereas the loss of fine-grained colloidal phosphate ore is due to the entrainment of hydrophobic aggregates into the tailings. As a result, reducing the coarse grade content and minimizing fine grade entrainment can significantly improve the concentrate P2O5 grade and recovery. |
