| This paper first conducted an in-depth study on the characteristics of the reaction of natural gas reforming to hydrogen, and then conducted related experiments on the combustion of mixed reformed gas on a lean-burning natural gas engine based on the relevant research results. On this basis,a simulation model of the natural gas engine was established using simulation software, and the combustion characteristic parameters of mixed fuels of different components were calculated by simulation software. Finally, the simulation model was used to study the basic performance of the natural gas engine with the reformed gas when the reforming reaction is conducted with a fuel-to-oxygen ratio(CH4/O2)of1.6,2.0 and 2.4 of inlet gas.The results of the study show that the yield of the hydrogen production reaction from natural gas reforming has a great relationship with the reaction temperature, and the reaction feed gas of CH4/O2 has a great influence on the relative concentration of each component of the reformed gas.Combustion with blending reformed gas can not only reduce the cycle variation coefficient of the engine, but also reduce the engine’s NOX and THC emissions, and when blended with reformed gas combustion with CH4/O2=1.6,the engine shows better economy performance. From the overall results, the combustion of natural gas engines blended with reformed gas has great potential in reducing engine gaseous pollutants, especially CH4 emissions, reducing cycle fluctuations and improving engine economic performance. |
