| Janus particles,due to their amphiphilic properties,can serve as solid particle emulsifiers to stabilize the water oil phase and form stable emulsions;It can also be used as an interface compatibilizer for multi polymer blending to improve the mechanical properties of the blend.This article explores the preparation and application of snowman shaped Janus particles.The specific research contents are as follows:1.PS/PDVB was prepared from lotion of linear polystyrene(PS)and divinylbenzene(DVB)via sol gel as seed.Amphiphilic snowman like PS was obtained by seed lotion polymerization of 3-(trimethoxysilane)propyl methacrylate(MPS)as monomer/ PDVB@Si O2 Janus Particles.The wall thickness and morphology of Janus particles were characterized using scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).By adding Janus particles as emulsifiers to the two phases of butyl acrylate(BA)and water,small oil in water droplets were obtained,with droplet sizes within 100 microns.The emulsifying ability of Janus particles was clearly demonstrated.The small droplets of oil in water are polymerized by heating to obtain Janus microcapsules with flexible shells.Janus particles have obvious orientation on the surface of microcapsules and have good encapsulation effect on oil droplets.2.Apply Janus particles modified as compatibilizers to the interface compatibilization of polypropylene/styrene/polyamide6(PP/PS/PA6)ternary copolymers.On the basis of snowman shaped Janus particles,epoxy modified Janus particles(EJNs)and octadecyl modified Janus particles(JNs OTMS)were obtained by modifying their hydrophilic end.Adding two types of modified Janus particles as compatibilizers to the ternary copolymer significantly improved the compatibility of PP/PS/PA6 ternary copolymer,and significantly enhanced mechanical properties such as tensile strength,elongation at break,and toughness. |
