Chloroaluminum phthalocyanine has a bright blue green color and extremely low toxicity, making it widely used in environmentally friendly pigments and other fields, such as as as photosensitizers, catalysts for electrode reactions, gas sensing materials, etc. This article uses a two-step process of phthalic anhydride urea to investigate the synthesis reaction of chloroaluminum phthalocyanine in its condensation kettle. The mechanism and steps of this synthesis reaction process are relatively complex, and the influence of different factors on important production parameters such as the yield of chloroaluminum phthalocyanine is explored through experiments. In the initial experiment, the most commonly used alkylbenzene solvent in the large-scale production of metal phthalocyanines was used, but it was found that chloroaluminum phthalocyanine could not be synthesized smoothly in the experiment. Therefore, the feasibility of different types of solvents in the reaction was explored. We have determined to use trichlorobenzene as the solvent for the synthesis of chloroaluminum phthalocyanine.Due to the intense synthesis reaction of chloroaluminum phthalocyanine, the reaction yield is low, only between 10% and 30%.The influence of different reaction aids on the experimental results was explored, and the effects of different dosage of reaction aids on the reaction results were compared. It was determined that the reaction promoter sodium xylene sulfonate had a better effect on promoting the reaction, and its optimal molar ratio of feed to phthalimide was 0.44.At this time, the yield of aluminum chloride phthalocyanine increased from 24.33% to 85.61%.Further exploring the effects of reaction temperature and reaction time on the experiment, the optimal experimental conditions were determined(reaction temperature 200 ℃,reaction time 6 hours, stirring rate 120 rpm),and repeated experiments were conducted to check the stability of the reaction process. And an orthogonal experiment was designed for the feed rates of ammonium heptamolybdate, aluminum trichloride, and urea. The experimental results showed that the change in the feed rate of aluminum trichloride had the greatest impact on the reaction.Further exploration was conducted on the impact of different raw material feed ratios on the experimental results during the reaction process, and the effects of different raw material feed amounts on product yield, impurity removal rate, and other factors were summarized. The optimal feed ratios of aluminum trichloride, ammonium heptamolybdate, urea and imide were 0.39,0.0045 and 3.06,respectively.At this time, the yield of aluminum chloride phthalocyanine was 89.64%,the true yield was 75.81%,and the impurity removal rate was 31.31%.Finally,the obtained chloroaluminum phthalocyanine product was characterized and analyzed, and the morphology, color, and aqueous solution contact angle of the sample were explored.
