Research On Empathy Design Of Intelligent Kitchenware For The Elderly

With the extension of the average life expectancy of the elderly in China and the gradual decrease in the birth rate of newborns,the size of the elderly population in China is gradually expanding and the elderly are showing the characteristics of aging.More and more elderly people are choosing the home based elderly care model.The kitchen is a very important activity place for elderly people who are elderly at home,and a comfortable and safe cooking environment is particularly important for the elderly.The intelligence of kitchen utensils can to some extent solve the obstacles that elderly people encounter when cooking.With the development of Internet of Things technology,an endless number of intelligent products have emerged on the market.However,research on intelligent kitchenware for the elderly is still in its early stages,and accidents frequently occur in kitchen environments for the elderly.It is necessary to design intelligent kitchenware products specifically for the elderly.The advantage of empathy design is that it can capture the potential needs of special users through a series of empathy tools,providing strong support for the research of intelligent kitchenware for the elderly.The first half of this article mainly takes the development of population aging and intelligence as the background,elaborates on the significance of empathy design for elderly people in intelligent kitchen utensils products,summarizes the process and methods of empathy design through research on empathy design theory,and summarizes the application principles of empathy design in aging products.Secondly,analyze the technology and product characteristics of intelligent kitchenware products,and recognize the necessity of empathy design for elderly intelligent kitchenware.Finally,construct a research process for empathy design of elderly intelligent kitchenware.To guide the empathy research of elderly users in the following text.The second half of this article mainly conducts empathy research on elderly users according to the empathy design process of the constructed elderly intelligent kitchenware product.The research and analysis of users are conducted from four stages: empathy generation,empathy immersion,empathy contact,and empathy evacuation.By analyzing the collected user behavior,language,and emotional data,user needs are obtained and the design elements of elderly intelligent kitchenware products are summarized.Secondly,based on preliminary research and analysis,the design concept is determined,and the product size data is determined through ergonomic data analysis to complete the design practice of intelligent kitchen utensils for the elderly.Taking the aging population as the background,empathy design as the research method,intelligent technologies such as the Internet of Things and big data as the basis,and safety and comfort as the guidance,the design and research of elderly users and intelligent kitchen utensils during cooking are of great significance for improving the user experience of elderly home care.
