As the most widely used equipment in the coal transportation industry,belt conveyors are widely used in mines,power plants and ports.The belt itself is costly,and in the process of coal transportation,coal blocks are mixed with stones,iron bars,etc.These debris will rub against the belt and cause the belt to tear.When belt tearing occurs,if the fault is not found and eliminated in time,the belt will be continuously damaged,and in light cases,belt tearing and damage to the rack will occur,and in heavy cases,the lives of the staff on site will be threatened,bringing huge economic losses.Based on the analysis of the belt characteristics and the actual situation when the tear occurs,this paper designs a machine smell belt tear early warning system through gas detection.The early warning system uses gas sensors to collect the gas generated by the belt decomposition due to friction tear,so as to identify whether the belt tears or not and realize the protection of the belt machine.Aiming at the characteristics of belt decomposition easily by heat,this paper proposes a fast and accurate alarm for tearing fault by detecting the presence of the characteristic gas of belt decomposition.Therefore,this paper investigates the gas generated by the belt due to frictional heat,assumes the gas as a continuous diffusion source,uses a Gaussian plume diffusion model to analyze the gas generated by the diffusion source,and then uses Matlab to simulate the diffusion effect and analyze the distribution of different kinds of gases at different locations,which in turn provides a basis for the design of gas sensor thresholds and at the same time can understand the tearing of the belt.To address the design aspects of the early warning system,embedded,electronic circuitry and signal processing technologies are used in this paper.First,a mining belt tear detection device based on STM32 is investigated,which detects the surrounding environment of the belt conveyor and collects and displays the concentration values of the characteristic gases generated by the thermal decomposition of the belt on an LCD screen in real time.Then,this design mainly includes hardware circuit and software program.The STM32 series chip from STMicroelectronics is selected as the control chip of the hardware circuit,while the peripheral circuit of the microcontroller mainly includes modules for power supply,acquisition,download,communication and human interaction.For the software program,MDK software is used for programming and JTAG emulator is used for online debugging of the software.For the problem of alarm threshold setting of the early warning system,after the experimental simulation test of the whole system,according to the actual gas concentration changes,the system parameters changes are normal for the equipment debugging,and can correctly reflect whether the belt is frictional tear,and also further illustrate the feasibility of using gas detection to judge the belt tearing method.The mining belt tearing early warning system designed in this paper has the characteristics of high reliability,fast response time and flexible and replaceable equipment,which provides a guarantee for the safety of life and property of the site staff.Figure [64]Table [3]Reference [85]...
