Diverse Expressions Of Pulp Materials In Contemporary Art Contexts

The development of contemporary art is becoming increasingly diverse,with artists no longer confined to the forms of easel art and the conceptualisation of their personal emotions,but more concerned with the reality of life and environmental change,and turning to a holistic reflection on social conditions,i.e.the conceptualisation of their works.The aesthetic concept of "anything is possible" has led to an infinite expansion and extension of the boundaries of materials,allowing artists to create more individual expressions.It can be said that material materials play a pivotal role in the final vision of an artwork,and are the main medium that can directly convey the concept and spirit of art.In material terms,paper can be the subject of philosophical,aesthetic and theoretical exploration,and in imagery it is a metaphor for the meditations of oriental wisdom and a civilisation’s awareness of natural materiality.As a living,primitive material,paper pulp’s rich,dense texture,elegant colours and unique textures are in a state of constant growth and superposition,forming an independent linguistic paradigm in artistic creation.In the context of contemporary art,the pulp material has been given multiple connotations as a social,cultural and even anthropological vehicle and concept,representing a connection to humanity,nature,the real world and everything around it.Through the intervention and presentation of paper pulp in contemporary art,this paper explores the diverse expressive fields of the material,feels the "thoughts of nature" and oriental spiritual underpinnings clarified in the process of its creation,and digs deeper into the "social attributes" that gradually form behind the external appearance of the material form The meaning of "social attributes" and human connection behind the shape of material forms.Firstly,we focus on the relevance of the material and space,and look for the fit between its aesthetic characteristics and contemporary art concepts in terms of expression;secondly,we focus on the material and spiritual properties of pulp,decipher the social and cultural genes carried by itself,and strengthen the understanding and research on the width and depth of the material.Finally,while summing up the experience of creative practice,we will consider in depth how artworks that use the material as the main body of expression can generate intrinsic spiritual content and humanistic feelings.The work is then taken out of the realm of "craft" and into the realm of "pluralism" in artistic creation.It also analyses the potential energy of these works from a personal perspective,thus contributing to the socialisation of research and practice.This process is both an excavation of the deeper meaning of our own materials and the construction of a new dimension of paper art in terms of the preservation of traditional culture and the transformation of contemporaneity.
