The prefabricated steel plate shear wall system has the advantages of convenient factory processing, high degree of assembly, and can be repaired after earthquakes. It is a lateral resisting system suitable for high-rise buildings. However, the existing research on the joint connection of prefabricated steel plate shear wall is imperfect, which makes it difficult to realize its wide application in building structure. This paper proposes a U-shaped connection joint suitable for the prefabricated steel plate shear wall system. The whole structure is connected by bolts, and all the components are processed in the factory. The specific research content and results are as follows:(1)The tensile properties of some high-strength bolts are used in the U-shaped joint, which reduces the number of bolts. At the same time, large bolt holes are opened on the infill plate, makes it easy to assemble. The relative slip of each part is prevented;the U-shaped plate with high rigidity is used, and the connecting angle steel and the Ushaped plate in the joint area are not damaged, which ensures the repairability after the earthquake.(2)The quasi-static test of the U-shaped joint has obtained various performance evaluation indexes of the specimens with different parameters when they are reciprocatingly loaded to failure at low cycle. The test results show that:increasing the diameter of the tensile bolt or shear bolt of the specimen in a small range can slightly increase the ultimate bearing capacity of the structure, and the ductility will also decrease;increasing the thickness of the infill plate significantly improves the bearing capacity of the components.(3)The finite element model corresponding to the U-shaped joint test and the model of the beam-only connected steel plate shear wall with discontinuous coverplates connection(DCPC)were established. The comparison of experimental and simulation results verifies the validity of the established model.Comparing the seismic performance indicators of the two joints,it can be seen that the initial stiffness and ductility of the U-shaped joint is similar to that of the DCPC joint, and the difference in the ultimate bearing capacity of the two joints is not large. The bearing capacity of the U-shaped joint decreases more slowly, and its energy dissipation capacity is better than that of the DCPC joint in the later stage of loading.(4)A nonlinear parametric analysis of the U-shaped joint was carried out.The effects of height-to-thickness ratio of the steel plate, bolt participation and bolt spacing on structural performance were studied. The parametric analysis results show that with the reduction of the height-to-thickness ratio of the steel plate and the reduction of the bolt spacing, the bearing capacity of the joints increases. The contribution of shear bolts to structural performance is greater than that of tensile bolts.
