With the improvement of China’s industrial production capacity and the continuous development of new infrastructure,the matched high standard electric grid is constantly spreading and improving.Ensuring the safe and stable operation of UHV and EHV power grids can provide continuous and reliable power for the completion of China’s 14th five-year plan.In the types of power grid security risks,flashover caused by insulator contamination can not be ignored.Therefore,the study of the dynamic contamination process and the mechanism of flashover on insulator is of great theoretical and practical value to ensure the safety of power grid.The dynamic contamination of high-voltage insulators is a typical multi-field process,which includes the unsteady flow field with high Reynolds number in the wake region of insulators,the high-voltage electric field on the complex surface and surrounding space of insulators and the contamination particle field of discrete phase.In this research,based on the Electrohydrodynamics(EHD)Theory and the Lattice Boltzmann Method(LBM),an open source library of LBM is used to redevelop a numerical calculation program for dynamic contamination process of high-voltage insulator under multi-field action,the numerical simulation of high-voltage insulator dynamic contamination process is realized,the accuracy of the program is verified.By controlling a single variable,the relationship between the pollution particle size,insulator voltage level,wind speed and the degree of contamination is analyzed.The results show that the contamination rate of insulator surface increases with the increase of particle size under high-voltage electric field,and the wind speed has little effect on the degree of contamination when particle size is small;When the effect of electric field is not considered,the change of contamination degree of insulator with the particle size is not obvious,when considering the effect of electric field,the degree of insulator contamination becomes serious with the increase of voltage level and particle size.At the same time,the wind tunnel experiment platform of insulator flow is built and the wind tunnel experiment of insulator flow is carried out,the time history curve of wind speed at the key position in the flow field is measured and compared with the flow field calculation results of the simulation program.The results show that the calculation results of the program are in good agreement with the experimental results,which verifies the accuracy of the developed simulation program.
