Research On The Balcony Of Apartment House In Beijing

From the founding of new China in 1949 to today’s new era,politics,economy and technology have developed rapidly.The population of Beijing has increased greatly,so that the housing construction has made amazing achievements.With the changes of the times,people constantly put forward more dimensional demands for the living environment.Semi open balcony is the most characteristic attribute,which makes it the most active element in residence,so the transformation and utilization of it are also the most diverse.Looking at the development and changes of the balcony,to some extent,it reflects the changes of people’s life style,standard and construction concept.At present,most of the researches about balconies focus on design and technology,mainly in the direction of transformation optimization,modeling design and energysaving design.This study takes Beijing residential balconies as the research object,and bases on the development and changes of Beijing’s housing,also combines literature research with case studies.And then,From the perspective of policy,development,design and residents,let us know the functional relationship,spatial relationship,physical relationship and architectural form of balcony in different periods.Through exploration and analysis,a new understanding can be formed,which can provide useful references for housing renewal and housing construction.First of all,through the interpretation of the definition about balcony,the analysis of its composition,the combing of its origin and historical evolution,this paper analyzes the concept of balcony from different perspectives such as norms,functions and space,meanwhile,the development of balcony in early collective residence is briefly introduced.Subsequently,this paper focuses on Beijing,and on the basis of analyzing the policies,background of the times and construction situation of the development of residential buildings in Beijing,it divides the development of residential balconies in Beijing into four stages: "planned economy period","market economy period","commercial housing period" and "housing policy optimization and adjustment period".Through combing the balcony function relationship,space relationship,entity relationship and architectural form from different perspectives in each period,this paper explores the development of Beijing residential balcony,summarizes the limitations of balcony design in each period,and compares the changes of balcony design in each period vertically,trying to form a new understanding of the balcony.Finally,combined with the actual experience of transformation,the author puts forward suggestions and prospects for the future development of residential balconies in Beijing.
