| The "White Paper on China’s Digital Economy Development and Employment(2021)" published by the China Academy of Information and Communication Research shows that the size of China’s digital economy has exceeded USD 5.4 trillion in 2020,with a growth rate of 9.6%,accounting for the proportion of China’s GDP continues to grow,and has become an important engine to drive China’s economic development.As an important part of the digital economy,the digitization of industry has attracted the attention of our government.However,compared to the service industry,the digitalization of our industry is not yet high enough.To facilitate the digital transformation of industry as well as to promote the implementation of the manufacturing power strategy,the Chinese government has formulated "Made in China 2025" and the "Medium and Long-term Development Plan for the Automotive Industry",which set out an overall goal of building a strong automotive nation,emphasizing the importance of technological innovation,intelligent product transformation,and green and sustainable development.Although some car companies have embraced digitalization and started digital transformation in line with the trend,it is difficult to measure the degree of digital transformation and its impact on enterprise profitability due to the high cost,long cycle time and difficulty of digital transformation projects.Through literature research,this paper sorts out the literature such as digital transformation and its mechanism of enterprise performance,and finds that the focus of digital transformation in different industries is different,and it is necessary to analyze the relationship between digital transformation and enterprise profitability in combination with specific industry transformation characteristics.First of all,this paper sorts out the development process,transformation status and external environment of the automobile industry,and conducts an in-depth analysis of the necessity,feasibility and transformation path of the digital transformation of the industry in order to provide the transformation direction for automobile companies.In addition,this paper combines digital transformation with the theory of sustainable development in manufacturing and proposes the following assumptions:(1)There is a positive relationship between digital management capabilities and enterprise profitability;(2)There is a positive relationship between product innovation and corporate profitability;(3)There is a positive relationship between digital resource investment and enterprise profitability.By combining the characteristics of the transformation of the automobile manufacturing industry for index selection and regression analysis,the following empirical results are obtained in this paper:(1)Digital management capabilities are significantly positively correlated with corporate profitability;(2)There is a significant negative correlation between product innovation and corporate profitability,but the degree of negative correlation between the two is gradually weakening;There is a significant negative correlation between digital resource investment and corporate profitability.Finally,this paper uses the theoretical analysis method to further explore the relationship between automotive product innovation and digital resource investment and profitability,and based on the empirical and theoretical research results,the following suggestions are proposed for the digital transformation of the industry:(1)First of all,building a digital management team and improving the digital management system.Enterprises should consider the professional background and professional background of the executives when allocating the senior management team,and can consider giving more tilt and support to executives with technical backgrounds.(2)Secondly,increasing product value and reducing product costs.Enterprises can increase the added value of products by crossing or extending the value chain,and transform new energy vehicles from traditional means of transportation into digital products constructed by experience and service dimensions.(3)Lastly,Strengthening the ability of enterprises to use digital resources and synergizing with non-technical elements.According to the stage of digital transformation in which the enterprise is located,timely organizational changes are carried out,the flexibility of the organization is improved,and the resources such as personnel,equipment and funds are reasonably matched. |
