A Probe Into The Improvement Of The Vitality Of Urban Waterfront Open Space Under The Background Of The Construction Of The Grand Canal Cultural Belt

China’s Grand Canal has a long history and vast watersheds.It is not only an important world heritage of Wenhu,but also an invigorated historical memory.This paper takes the construction of the Grand Canal Cultural Belt as the research background,takes the waterfront open space in the city as the research object,starts with the study of the relationship between city and water,explores the multiple research perspectives of the relationship between city and water,and explores the type division and evolution trend of the relationship between city and water.Through the analysis of the vitality influencing factors of the urban waterfront open space from the aspects of material space,psychological perception and behavioral activities,the vitality evaluation system is constructed from three angles: the carrying capacity of spatial vitality,the attraction of psychological vitality and the guidance of behavioral activities.to explore the influencing factors affecting the vitality of urban waterfront open space.Through the field investigation,questionnaire interview and data analysis of the waterfront space in the Grand Canal(Hanshan Bridge-Hengtang section)and Xujiang(Gusu section),this paper makes an in-depth research and analysis on the relationship between city and water,spatial form,historical resources,landscape pattern and current situation.At present,the urban-water relationship in Suzhou is changing from the urban-water intersection type to the urban-water fusion type.The unique landscape pattern and profound cultural resources provide a strong support for the vitality promotion of the waterfront open space of the Grand Canal in Suzhou.However,in the waterfront open space of the Grand Canal(Hanshan Bridge-Hengtang section)and Xujiang(Gusu section),there are obvious deficiencies and unbalanced distribution in the improvement of material space,the improvement of waterfront feeling and the choice of diversification of waterfront activities.Only the waterfront space quality of Fengqiao Hanshan section and canal sports park section is good,and the waterfront open space quality of other sections need to be improved;a large number of waterfrontactivities are concentrated in the canal sports park section;the frequency of social activities is less than 1/3 of the other three types of activities;and there are some current problems,such as lack of overall connectivity,closed interface,uneven quality,chaotic surrounding road traffic system,lack of accessibility and so on.Therefore,this paper aims to improve the vitality of urban waterfront open space,according to the vitality influence mechanism among spatial vitality bearing,psychological vitality attraction and behavioral activity guidance,this paper summarizes the composition of the vitality influencing factors that affect the urban waterfront open space.Combined with the statistical analysis of questionnaire data and Pearson correlation analysis,this paper explores the interaction factors of vitality bearing,psychological vitality attraction and behavioral activity guidance in waterfront open space.Thus,it puts forward targeted vitality promotion strategies for the waterfront open space with low vitality value,so as to build a harmonious system of vitality diversity and urban water symbiosis,so as to provide corresponding theoretical basis and practical reference for urban construction and management.The research results show that the research results of this paper are universal in practice,and not only have certain practical significance for the construction of waterfront open space vitality of the Grand Canal(Hanshan Bridge-Hengtang section)and Xujiang(Gusu section).It can also evaluate and enhance the vitality of the waterfront open space in other cities or sections.It can more effectively promote the activation and utilization of the Grand Canal and provide new perspectives and new ideas for the utilization and inheritance of the Grand Canal.It will also help Suzhou to inherit the historical context,strengthen the protection of urban culture,activate urban regeneration,promote more extensive academic discussion and social attention,and hope to make a certain contribution to the research on the vitality of waterfront open space in our country.
