New energy vehicles have boosted the sustainable existence of the automotive industry and contributed to solving environmental and resources issues.To become a technological enterprise,the development of new energy vehicles has just approached.There are problems such as immature technology development,lack of R&D funds,and positive economic externalities,which limit the innovative terminology of enterprises and bring negative influence to the growth of new energy vehicles.To promote innovative terminology in new energy vehicles,the Chinese administration has provided much more government subsidies.However,there is still controversy among domestic and foreign scholars whether those subsidies can provide the great influence for enterprise innovation;This article takes new energy vehicles as a sample to show whether government subsidies can promote innovation and how to promote enterprise innovation.The article explains the background and purport to start with,Introduces the what the new energy vehicles are at length.Analyzing the mechanism of the influence process of subsidies on innovation performance.Putting forward relevant assumptions based on innovative terminology theory,economic externality theory and so on.To study the specific influence mechanism of subsidies towards innovative terminology achievement;And taking that industry from 2016 to 2021 as the research examples,the new energy vehicle enterprises are divided into upstream,midstream,and downstream industries based on their respective industrial chain positions,and a regression model is constructed for correlation testing and empirical analysis;This article explores the role of R&D expenditure,as a mediating variable in the influences of administration subsidies on innovation performance,thereby revealing the transmission path.In addition,this article also introduces the effectiveness of internal control to discuss its moderating effect between those.Finally,the indicator replacement method,lagged variable method and Bootstrap method are used to successfully verify the significance and robustness of the empirical fruits,ensuring the final conclusions.The research results of this article indicate that:(1)Innovation performance will increase with the increase of government subsidies,and this promoting effect also exists in the upstream,midstream,and downstream of the industry;(2)Government subsidies do indeed improve the innovation performance of enterprises,but overly effective internal controls have a moderating effect on this,weakening the positive impact between the two,and this positive impact does not exist in upstream enterprises of the industrial chain;(3)Subsidies could enhance firms’ innovation fruit by enhancing R&D expenditure,which is to be a part in mediating the transmission between the two.Finally,combining the conclusions of the full research,great suggestions are proposed for our administration and the enterprise,respectively,to encourage the coordinated development of the new energy vehicle industry as a whole.
