| With the continuous advancement of China’s urbanization process,a large number of rural people have poured into cities, urban space has continued to expand, and residents’ travel has become more dependent on motor vehicles, resulting in urban problems such as traffic congestion and insufficient space for public activities.Traditional urban planning often pays too much attention to the traffic function of the street and ignores its pedestrian function. The walkability of the street is continuously reduced, and the demand for pedestrians to travel on foot is difficult to meet.At present,China is in a critical period of transition from the stage of rapid and extensive growth to the stage of stock optimization.Under the guidance of the new people-oriented urban development concept, urban planning is also paying more and more attention to street walkability and pedestrian experience. Therefore, how to improve the walkability of urban streets and create high-quality urban pedestrian spaces has become one of the hotspots in the field of urban planning. As the capital of Henan Province,Zhengzhou is the political, cultural, financial, transportation and economic center of Henan Province,as well as the core city and national central city of the Central Plains urban agglomeration. This paper takes the commercial and life service streets in Zhengzhou as the research object, and constructs a quantitative evaluation system for street walkability based on multi-source big data by sorting out relevant domestic and foreign literatures and drawing on existing research.Subsequently, the walkability of the streets within the third ring road in the central urban area of Zhengzhou is evaluated, and corresponding optimization and improvement strategies are proposed. This paper firstly introduces the development background and research status of urban street pedestrian system, and analyzes the domestic and foreign research status and related theories of urban street space and walkability.Theory,New Urbanism and other theories, determine the research direction and technical methods of this paper.Secondly, from the four levels of street safety, convenience, connectivity and comfort, selected “mobile traffic degree”,“enclosure degree”,“service facilities density”,“service facilities density”,“service facilities mix”,“green vision rate”,“sky visibility",“intersection density”,“walking path feasibility” 8 evaluation indicators,The weight of each indicator is determined by the AHP method, and a quantitative evaluation system for street walkability combining two-dimensional and three-dimensional is constructed. The urban network data open platform can obtain basic data such as Zhengzhou road network data, street view image data, service facility POI data, building outline data, remote sensing image data and other basic data required for research. The data were processed to obtain the walkability evaluation scores of each street within the study area. The research results show that the streets in Zhengzhou are generally at a moderate level of walkability, and the walkability in the central and western regions is better than that in the eastern regions. The greening and service facilities in the new urban area need to be improved quickly.Among them, the life service streets with better walkability generally have smaller block size, dense road network, dense and rich types of service facilities, convenient living of surrounding residents, high greening level, and good walking comfort. The overall convenience and safety of commercial streets are good, but the comfort is not good. The walkability of life service streets varies greatly, and the overall comfort is good but the convenience is average. Finally, based on the deficiencies of some streets, this paper proposes strategies such as strengthening top-level design, strengthening street design, advocating priority for slow traffic, and optimizing the configuration of service facilities,in order to improve the walkability of streets in Zhengzhou and create a humanized street space suitable for urban residents to walk. |
