Wireless communication technology continuously improves the quality of communication experience.Effective and reliable communication quality and wider signal coverage make communication more convenient. But at the same time, the deployment and use of large-scale MIMO antennas arrays in the base stations also bring about a significant increase in communication energy consumption. With the steady progress of wireless communication network construction, the scale of the base stations will continue to expand and the resulting power consumption can not be ignored.Facing the problem of increasing energy consumption, the photovoltaic industry is in the ascendant and the rapid progress of photovoltaic technology has also promoted the scientific research on the integrated design of solar cells and microwave antennas.Solar cell antenna is a very important design for outdoor self-power supply systems. It can not only be used for wireless communication but also collect energy to achieve energy self-sufficiency.It can effectively reduce fossil fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emission, alleviate the greenhouse effect, and promote the green transformation and upgrading of the wireless communication industry. The multifrequency and broadband design of the antenna with integrated solar cells can meet the multiple working frequency bands urgently needed by the modern communication system and can cover more frequency bands with fewer antennas in the limited sky resources. It is an important way to realize the transformation of the communication system to lightweight,low-cost,portable,and multifunctional expansion. Therefore,in this paper,a low-profile dual-band antenna integrated with solar cells for WLAN applications and a low-profile wideband antenna integrated with solar cells for mobile communication are designed. The main work of this paper is as follows:1.A low-profile dual-band antenna intergrated with solar cells for WLAN applications is proposed. Two types of antennas are incorporated into the structure including the slot and microstrip antennas. The antenna is in slot mode at low frequency 2.4 GHz and the anti-phase TM02 mode is excited at high frequency4.8~6.9 GHz.The lower band has an omnidirectional radiation pattern, with a gain of 5.25 d Bi.While the higher band has a unidirectional radiation pattern and has high gain characteristics, with a gain of 12.2 d Bi.Based on the above antenna, the connection mode of the upper solar cells, feeding structure, and the slot of the antenna are changed, and a dual-band antenna integrated with series connection solar cells is designed. While maintaining the performance of the upper band, the low-frequency bandwidth is widened from 2.27~2.5 GHz to 2.1~2.7 GHz,and the DC output voltage is also significantly improved.2.A low-profile wideband antenna integrated with solar cells for mobile communication is designed The antenna mainly covers 2G,3G,and 4G mobile communication bands from 1.71 to 2.69 GHz.The relative bandwidth is 54.8%.The anti-phase TM03 mode is excited, and the average measured gain is 9.3 d Bi.To reduce the back radiation, two shorted dipoles are introduced as the director. The U-shaped feed structure and short-circuit wall structure make the antenna obtain broadband performance. The height of the antenna is 8.9 mm,and the distribution rate of solar cells is 61.4%.
