| With the continuous improvement of scientific and technological level,driverless cars,3D printers,smart supermarkets and other emerging things have emerged one after another,which not only changed people’s lives,but also had a great impact on the production and operation activities of enterprises.Facing the impact of digital technologies such as big data,cloud computing and blockchain,the traditional manufacturing industry must seize the tide of the times and actively carry out strategic transformation.As one of the important members of China’s traditional manufacturing industry,the home appliance industry also needs to meet the changing pace of the times and actively carry out digital transformation.Since the reform and opening up,China’s home appliances have experienced a period of rapid development.The financial crisis in 2008 led to the decline of global home appliance sales.The growth rate of China’s home appliance industry has gradually slowed down due to national policies and industrial barriers.At the same time,with the continuous improvement of people’s living standards,the consumption concept and consumer groups have changed.People’s pursuit of household appliances has changed from beautiful and cheap to high-end intelligent and personalized.In this context,if traditional household electrical appliance enterprises want to occupy a place in the industry market,they are bound to comply with the changes of the digital economy era and actively carry out digital transformation.In recent years,scholars at home and abroad have conducted a profound empirical discussion on the motivation and path of digital transformation,while there is little research on the specific content and post transformation performance of enterprise digital transformation.Because there is a certain gap between theoretical research and practice and lack of practical operation,it is necessary to conduct a specific study on enterprise digital transformation in combination with actual cases,and analyze the specific contents and performance results of enterprise digital transformation from the aspects of transformation motivation,transformation implementation strategy and transformation performance,so as to bring some enlightenment and reference to the road of digital transformation of traditional Chinese enterprises.By combing the theoretical literature on digital transformation and enterprise performance at home and abroad,combined with case analysis,this paper studies the motivation,path and performance of Midea Group’s digital transformation,and draws conclusions and suggestions.In the literature research part,this paper explains the basic concepts of digitization,digital transformation and enterprise performance,and briefly summarizes the relevant theoretical basis such as process reengineering and value chain theory.In the case analysis part,this paper selects Midea Group,a leading traditional household appliance enterprise,as the research object.Firstly,it expounds the basic situation and organizational structure of Midea Group,then analyzes the motivation of Midea Group’s digital transformation from four aspects,and describes the digital transformation process of Midea Group according to the timeline.After that,it summarizes the achievements of Midea Group’s digital transformation.Then this paper analyzes the financial performance and non-financial performance of Midea Group in recent ten years,and finds that digital transformation can improve the enterprise performance of Midea Group to a certain extent.At the same time,it analyzes the path of digital transformation affecting performance.Finally,according to the performance evaluation results of Midea Group,the paper puts forward suggestions to improve the financial performance of Midea Group,and lists the places worthy of reference in the transformation process of Midea Group,hoping to provide reference for the subsequent development of Midea Group and the transformation of other enterprises. |
