| With the rapid development of economy and the acceleration of industrialization and urbanization, residential electricity demand has grown rapidly, which has brought enormous pressure to Chinese energy supply and climate change.Household is the basic unit of electricity consumption, and the reduction of electricity consumption per household will reduce the electricity consumption of the whole society.Due to differences in electricity consumption behavior, household structure and geographical location, there is heterogeneity in household energy consumption. In order to reduce electricity consumption,it is very important to analyze the influencing factors of heterogeneous electricity demand to influence consumption behavior and improve energy efficiency.Using data from the Chinese Residential Energy Consumption Survey 2014(CRECS 2014),this paper estimates the important determinants of household electricity demand by OLS based on electricity demand response and demand life cycle theory. The heterogeneity of household electricity demand was tested by classifying important factors. Then, quantile regression model is constructed to analyze the influencing factors of heterogeneous power demand. The heterogeneity of different influencing factors in different quantiles was determined statistically by the difference test of coefficients in different quantiles. Finally, the empirical results are summarized, and management and policy recommendations are put forward based on relevant conclusions, and the shortcomings of the research and future prospects are analyzed. The results show that the influence of electricity price, family characteristics and household attributes on electricity demand may be different with different quantile:(1)There is great inequality in electricity consumption among households and high power users are more sensitive to price changes than low power users;(2)Characteristics of high electricity users:more members aged 35-64 and 65 and above, larger housing size, more water heaters, desktop computers, refrigerators without energy labels, variable frequency air conditioners, living in the eastern region, female households consume less electricity than men,and owner-occupied homes consume less electricity than renters;(3)Characteristics of medium power users:higher income, more members aged 20-34,more washing machines and television sets;(4)Characteristics of low power users:more children and teenagers, higher education level of household head, more electric cookers, rice cookers,energy-saving lamps,fixed-frequency air conditioners and living in the central region of China;(5)In general, refrigerators with energy efficiency labels use less energy than those without; These results have important implications for the development of policies to improve the efficient use of energy services. |
