Research On Emotional Interactive Product Design For Rural Left-behind Elderly

According to the data of the seventh population census,the aging problem of rural population is higher in degree and faster in process than that of urban areas.The large flow of rural population to urban areas is one of the main reasons for the aggravation of rural population aging,which also leads to the increase of rural left-behind elderly,and the empty-nest problem becomes more prominent.The State Council’s "14th Five-Year" National Plan for the aging cause development and the old-age service System has made it clear that the center of the supply of the endowment resources will change from the institution endowment to the family endowment and the community endowment.Compared with cities and towns,rural economic development level,infrastructure for the elderly and public services are relatively backward,which makes solving the problem of the elderly left behind in rural areas unique and challenging.Based on the social environment and behavior habits of the elderly left behind in rural areas,it is particularly important to develop and design emotional interactive products that can meet the emotional needs of the elderly left behind in rural areas and improve the quality of life.By means of questionnaire survey and field interview,this topic conducts quantitative and qualitative research on the living situation of the rural left-behind elderly and their children,and obtains the emotional characteristics and needs of the rural left-behind elderly.It is found that the rural left-behind elderly have less emotional interaction with their children,relatives and neighbors,resulting in loneliness,lack of security,lack of self-worth and other problems.It is also accompanied by psychological distress caused by a decline in physical function.Based on the elaboration of relevant theories of emotional design and interactive product design,this paper analyzes the importance of emotional interactive product design for rural left-behind elderly people from the perspective of meeting their psychological needs and hidden needs.It also illustrates that the design of emotional interactive products for rural left-behind elderly should follow the design principles of safety,usability,functionality,interest,care and economy.In view of the emotional characteristics of the rural left-behind elderly,the design methods of emotional interactive products for the rural left-behind elderly are expounded,including the functional extension methods of "giving users emotional expression output,expanding users’ emotional sharing methods,arousing users’ emotional memory and realizing the improvement of users’ self-feeling".It also puts forward optimization methods such as "strengthening the application of Internet technology,optimizing interaction design,and always aiming at emotional experience".The emotional interactive product design for the elderly left behind in rural areas can not only improve the life happiness index of the elderly left behind in rural areas,but also has important practical significance for improving the shortcomings of the elderly left behind in rural areas,so that they can enjoy their old age and share the fruits of reform and development.
