| The dynamic nature of the evolution of urban spatial layout runs through different time dimensions, which means that cities may take on different spatial forms at different stages of development, and the belt city is one of the important urban forms in the process of spatial evolution. The complex and diverse geographical environment of China has given rise to a large number of belt cities, the distribution of which is characterised by a certain degree of territoriality. At the same time, the spatial development of ribbon cities has been influenced by the geographic environment at different stages in history. However, most of the research results on belt cities have been conducted from the perspective of transportation and industry, and there is a lack of long-term and continuous dynamic research. Therefore,it is important to study the evolution of the spatial layout of belt cities and its influencing factors in both time and space, focusing on the different geographical environments in which belt cities are located.Based on the spatial development history of Jinan and Lanzhou, this paper summarises the characteristics of the spatial layout of these two cities and the relevant factors influencing their geographic environment, using inductive analysis and comparative research. The thesis is divided into seven chapters, comprising the basic and the basic analysis and the comparative study. The thesis consists of seven chapters, comprising three parts: basic research, case research and concluding outlook. The first two chapters are basic research, the middle four chapters are case research, and the seventh chapter is comparative research and concluding outlook:In the introductory part of the basic research, the background, purpose and significance of this paper are mainly described, and the research object and related concepts are defined. In addition, the research literature on strip cities and urban spatial evolution at home and abroad is collated, and based on this, the research method and technical line of the thesis are determined;in the correlation research part of the basic research, the geospatial distribution characteristics, current type characteristics and spatial layout characteristics of strip cities above the prefecture level in China are summarised by combing cities above the prefecture level nationwide, and the various elements of the geographical environment are The influence of various elements of the geographical environment on the spatial layout of belt cities is analysed and discussed, and the relevance of the geographical environment to belt cities is outlined. In the case research section, firstly, the geographical environment characteristics and development profiles of two typical belt cities,Lanzhou and Jinan, were elaborated,as well as the evolution of their respective urban spatial layouts in the ancient, modern and contemporary periods are presented, with the modern period divided into four development periods based on the preparation of their respective master plans,in terms of urban spatial development, road system development and urban land use functions. The spatial layout characteristics of the two cities in different historical dimensions are summarised in three aspects: spatial development, road system development and functional organisation of urban land.Secondly, the mechanisms of the four geographic environment factors of Lanzhou and Jinan, namely location, topography, climate and hydrology, are analysed to summarise the influence of the geographic environment factors on the evolution of the spatial layout of the two cities. Finally,a comparative study is carried out on the basis of the previous inductive analysis, mainly to sort out the four stages of the evolution of the spatial layout of the belt cities under different geographical environments, and to conduct a comparative study combining the vertical and horizontal aspects of the stage characteristics of the two cities and the influence and balance process of the various elements of their geographical environments from the dual dimension of spatial and temporal development, and to summarise the similarities and differences in the process of their spatial evolution. In the concluding section, the main findings of this paper are summarised, concluding that the geographic environment has a decisive influence on the origin and spatial layout evolution of belt cities;moreover, the influence of each element of the geographic environment on the spatial layout evolution of belt cities differs from one geographic environment to another;in addition, the influence of each element of the geographic environment on the spatial layout evolution of strip cities has common and divergent characteristics;under the influence of the geographic environment, all belt cities have gone through four stages: concentration of clusters, continuation of belt-shaped,grouped belt and breakthrough of belt. These provide some reference for the study of the spatial layout evolution of other belt cities, and develop some ideas for the breakthrough transformation of belt cities in the future. |
