With the vigorous development of China’s transportation industry, the road traffic network is becoming more and more perfect, the existing road service time is increasing, the pavement technical condition is gradually deteriorating, and traffic accidents caused by the decline of pavement driving quality are emerging one after another, which runs counter to people’s increasing demand for road driving safety.Because the rutting and flatness of pavement directly affect the driving comfort and safety of pavement,Therefore,it has become an important content of road detection. How to quickly and accurately test the rutting and flatness of pavement has become the common concern of many scientific research institutions and road detection departments. In recent years, airborne lidar detection technology integrating inertial navigation, global positioning system and high-precision laser ranging technology has given full play to the characteristics of UAV mobility, high lidar data acquisition density and high precision. It has been widely used in traffic infrastructure detection. This paper summarizes the existing pavement rutting and flatness detection methods, and points out some problems existing in the commonly used vehicle mounted pavement rutting and flatness detection technology. On this basis,a rutting and flatness detection method based on airborne lidar is proposed, and the feasibility and accuracy of this method are verified by field test.It can realize high-efficiency detection of pavement and provide a lightweight detection method for road automatic detection. The research contents of this paper mainly include:(1)This paper summarizes the current research on the mechanism of rutting, including the commonly used rutting classification methods, rutting causes, development process and rutting evaluation criteria. On this basis, this paper introduces the main detection means used in this research-Airborne Lidar pavement detection technology, designs the overall detection system, and explains in detail the overall hardware composition, key equipment parameters and radar calibration method of the detection system.(2)Based on the airborne lidar detection equipment, the on-site detection of 100 m long test section is carried out,and the road point cloud information is obtained. The MATLAB program is compiled to process the radar data, the reasonable Lane cross-section fitting method and rutting depth calculation method are selected, and the UAV attitude information is used to correct the calculation results,so that the rutting depth is output in the form of report. The three-dimensional surface model of road surface is generated, which more intuitively shows the rutting depth of the measured road section, and verifies the reliability of the data processing algorithm.(3)The international roughness index(IRI)and its calculation model and method are introduced;A construction method of road surface digital elevation model based on road point cloud is proposed, and based on this model, the acquisition, correction,IRI value calculation and accuracy verification of road profile elevation data are carried out.(4)The factors affecting the rutting detection accuracy of airborne lidar are analyzed.A laser foot positioning error model is proposed through three-dimensional space modeling.According to this model, the effects of various factors on the laser foot coordinate error are analyzed.A rutting depth test simulation method based on MATLAB is proposed. The rutting depth detection results under different flight altitude and radar angle resolution are simulated.Compared with the test data of lidar in the real scene, the accuracy of the simulation model is verified.
