Virtual assembly is one of the key technologies in the process of aero-engine design and manufacturing,which implements its functions such as assembly process design and training of assembly operators.And it has a positive effect on improving the quality of aero-engine assembly.The current research on virtual assembly is mostly focused on the design and development of the system and the application of key technologies.However,there is a lack of research on the interaction design of the virtual assembly system,which leads to problems such as low interaction efficiency during the process of using.The theoretical basis of the thesis is virtual reality features and interaction design framework,which is used to study the interaction design of virtual assembly systems.The thesis aims to build an interaction design method for virtual assembly system in virtual environment and provide a better user experience for aero-engine virtual assembly system.The main work and results of the thesis are as follows:1.With the support of virtual reality technology and interaction design theory,the thesis analyzes the interaction design objectives,principles and evaluation methods related to interaction design in the virtual environment.And these contents are used to develop an aeroengine virtual assembly interaction design process.2.The design elements of ergonomics,interaction interface paradigm,information architecture and interaction interface in virtual assembly interaction design are sorted out and summarized,and the corresponding design specifications are obtained,which provide theoretical guidance for design practice.3.Through user research methods such as user interviews and focus groups,the target user requirements and functional requirements of the virtual assembly system are obtained.Based on the results of user research,the aero-engine virtual assembly information architecture and interaction tasks are established.What’s more,using the pairwise comparison method to establish interaction design requirements that users perceived clearly.4.The experimental research method is used to optimize the interaction design requirements that are obvious to users.User emotion,virtual reality presence and user preference are used as the evaluation indicators of virtual assembly interaction experience and task load and task performance are used as the evaluation indicators of virtual assembly interaction operation to explore the specific design strategies of virtual assembly interaction control and interface forms.The experimental results show that the virtual hand design and handheld interface can effectively improve the interaction experience of virtual assembly operation tasks of aero-engine.5.With the virtual assembly interaction design specifications and optimization strategies,Interaction design for aero-engine virtual assembly system is practiced in the thesis.The user experience evaluation by UEQ shows that the interaction design of aero-engine virtual assembly in the thesis has good user satisfaction and usability.
