| The significance of ceramics is crucial in human history,and it is a valuable source of knowledge for archaeological findings.While archaeologists explore many social relations through the study of ancient ceramics’ applied forms,we cannot forget about the wide application of the material in art,craft,and architecture.Nowadays usage of the ceramic materials is extremely wide,from traditional modern art forms,including artistic ceramics,through architectural ceramics and interior design,to scientific industries such as dentistry or aviation.It seems that ceramics as an artistic object has been left behind in modern designs.The purpose of this study is to investigate the application of architectural ceramics within contemporary’s environmental design projects in an artistic context.This casestudy-based research analyzes the artistic expressions of architectural ceramics and environmental design integration.It became apparent,that there is a distinct lack of published material on the combination of ceramics and environmental design in public spaces.This investigation contributed to address this gap by identifying major steps in the design process and creating a structure for a future design course.Climate Comparison identified the material qualities in different regions and therefore emphasized possible ceramic usage in a variety of places.Case studies of designers that work in architectural ceramics have been examined to position the research within the thesis’ s hypothesis of phenomenon occurring in various regions of the world.This approach offers a possible system of the design process to be viewed as a model for other practitioners within the field.The final submission includes a thesis,environmental comparison,case study comparison,design suggestions and conclusions on the research. |
