Spatial Morphology Of Traditional Water Village Settlements In The Pearl River Delta From The Perspective Of Resilience

Since the Tang Dynasty,the process of alluvial land formation in the the Pearl River Delta has accelerated,gradually forming a geographical landform with dense water network and vast alluvial plain.The hot and rainy subtropical monsoon climate has often affected local settlements by floods.In the process of continuously exploring water management and management methods,residents of water towns have created unique and intelligent settlement construction methods.Through a macro understanding and overall planning of the water system,production,and living space,the normal operation and sustainable development of settlement life have been ensured,and a settlement spatial pattern and cultural landscape that avoids water disasters and is interdependent with water have been constructed.The study introduces the concept of resilience,focuses on the resilience of village rainwater and floodwater,takes the water village settlements in the Pearl River Delta as the research object,selects four representative settlements of Daqitou Village,Fengjian Village,Dongtou Village and Jiangbian Village as the research objects,analyzes the spatial pattern of settlements from the macro,meso and micro levels,and horizontally compares and summarizes the wisdom of water management formed in the development process of water village settlements,as well as the spatial morphological characteristics formed in response to water control.On this basis,the influence of production mode,living needs and cultural beliefs on the spatial pattern of water village settlements is studied,the spatial layout and elements of water village settlements in the Pearl River Delta embody the characteristics of resilience are summarized,and suggestions for the protection of water village settlements are put forward.This article is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is an introduction,which sorts out resilience theory and its application path,summarizes relevant research progress at home and abroad,analyzes the compatibility between resilience theory and spatial research,and clarifies the research framework of resilience theory applied to water village settlements.Chapter 2 summarizes the topography,climate and hydrological environment of the Pearl River Delta region.Chapters 3,4 and 5summarize the spatial pattern and characteristics of settlements from the macro,meso and micro levels.Chapter 3 observes the relationship between the water system around the water village settlement,the layout of production space and living space,summarizes the planning and site selection characteristics and types of settlements,and analyzes the resilience characteristics of its overall spatial layout.Chapter 4 links the construction of settlement space with water system space and production space,sorts out the layout and synergy of its settlement space,storage space,drainage space and spiritual space,and analyzes the resilience configuration and characteristics of rainwater disaster in settlement planning.Chapter 5focuses on the types and characteristics of spatial elements in settlements,investigates the spatial layout and cross-sectional structure of streets and alleys,drainage wells and canals of typical water village settlements,analyzes the spatial pattern of typical building units,the structure of patios and drainage and their connection with street drainage,and studies the layout and characteristics of water conservancy infrastructure such as reservoirs and drainage canals,as well and port heads.Chapter 6 summarizes the planning and construction characteristics of water village settlements to cope with storm flooding,and puts forward suggestions for the protection of water village settlements in Lingnan.From the perspective of resilience,this paper discusses the planning and construction wisdom of water village settlements in the Pearl River Delta,in order to provide a research basis for their protection and development,and provide reference for the current planning and construction activities of urban and rural settlements.
