In recent years, due to the promotion of popular cultural life, different types of museum projects of different sizes have appeared everywhere.Modern museum architecture is no longer just a place to exhibit cultural relics and artworks, but more inclined to provide various public services and become a part of citizens’ daily life, which requires many modern museum architectural designs to better reflect the affinity of buildings. The transitional space exists inside and outside the museum architecture, connecting two or more spaces, adjusting the contradictions and conflicts between spaces, playing an important role in museum architecture, and has a bridging role in psychology, spirit and function.By studying the historical development background of the museum and the background of people’s needs, and combing the research status of the transition space of the museum based on perceptual phenomenology at home and abroad, this paper studies the design method of the transition space of the museum of perceptual phenomenology, expounds the design principles of the transition space, and analyzes each transition space of the museum building.Phenomenology of perception plays an important guiding role in the design of transition space, and the perceptual experience of transition space is studied from the perspective of human five senses. This paper explores the methods of creating atmosphere from the aspects of museum building subject, narrative plot and natural elements of immersive interactive design, and further improves the transitional space in museum building, and analyzes it with cases. Finally, based on the architectural practice of Lianhuashan Museum in Changchun, the theoretical methods described above are applied to practice. In order to create a good spatial relationship, create a spatial atmosphere, meet the psychological and spiritual needs of visitors, and have a better visit experience,it will provide reference for the future architectural design of domestic museums.
