| Compared with other types of display space,the university history museum has more special significance.It has evolved from a space for researching and compiling and storing school history materials to a multi-functional external display and communication space integrating school history development process,culture and spirit,and development style results,and has become a symbolic medium for carrying and concentrating the overall image of universities.With the progress and rapid development of the times,the display space of university history museum also puts forward higher requirements accordingly,which is no longer a one-way process of passive acceptance by visitors,but more people-oriented and two-way consideration.How to effectively convey the information and ideological theme of the display content and enhance the readability of the space is a question to be considered.This paper takes the history museum of Zhongyuan University of Technology as the design object and narrative theory as the entry point,analyzes the development of university history museums and the evolution of narrative theory,and explores the correlation between the design of exhibition space of university history museums and narrative theory.The basic elements of the narrative display space of university history museums are analyzed,and the narrative display methods of adjusting the speed of narrative time,arranging the sequence of narrative space and changing the viewer’s perspective are further proposed.Then,we analyze the narrative characteristics of domestic school history museums in the context of their excellent landing cases,clarify the narrative content of school history museums,and lay the foundation for subsequent design practice.The feasibility of the research project is further explored and confirmed by the real-life practice project.The research analyzes the project background,basic situation,school history and situation,existing problems,audience and regional culture of the school history museum of Zhongyuan University of Technology,and uses the proposed narrative display method to construct and implement the narrative display space design for the school history museum of Zhongyuan University of Technology,so as to enhance the readability of the space and the effectiveness of information dissemination and decoding,and improve the function and effect of the school history museum of Zhongyuan University of Technology in educating people. |
