Mobile Life:A Study On The Media Use Of Rural Truck Drivers

The full opening of the market economy has promoted the common development of state-owned transportation and private transportation,and the sales of heavy trucks have gradually increased.In this context,some rural farmers with flexible economic ideas have entered the freight industry.Because the situation of rural truck drivers in different regions is very different,the author’s research cannot cover all rural truck drivers in China.In this regard,the author will base himself on Hebei Province,where there are a large number of truck drivers,and take Dongpanzhuang Village as the research breakthrough point,and observe the role played by the media in this group based on the blood relationship,geography and industry relationship of rural truck drivers.This study takes the media as the main line,focusing on the performance of rural truck drivers in the process of modern mobility,the basic characteristics of this group,media use and interpersonal communication.As the basic carrier of production and life,the body plays a media role in the freight industry,and is constantly being "disciplined" to meet the needs of work.The traditional concept of rural truck drivers has been gradually disintegrated by the process of urbanization and industrialization,and their psychological needs have changed in freight transportation.The way of working has gone through the process of oral agreement,group communication and the application of new media,and the influence brought by different media methods in each period is very different.In the interest struggle,what kind of behaviors do truck drivers have with the help of the media when they face the interest problem between themselves and outside the group? In the mobile life,what changes have taken place in the principles pursued by truck drivers,all of which are worthy of detailed discussion in this study.Considering the fate of truck drivers in the context of national economic development,analyzing the changes of their professional experience and the role played by the media,and observing their complicated and difficult work contents,production and living conditions and psychological trends will help promote the society to improve the established cognition of truck drivers,promote the establishment and improvement of relevant policies and rules,improve the format of truck drivers,and re-understand the interests of rural areas in the process of modernization.
