With the popularity of automobiles,the research and development of engine oil is becoming more and more important.Engine oil is an important lubricant and coolant for the engine,and it also has the function of cleaning and protecting the engine.Traditional engine oil usually has high viscosity to ensure that the engine keeps lubrication and stable performance at high temperature.However,high-viscosity engine oil can also lead to a decline in energy efficiency,because it requires more energy to move and circulate.In view of China’s release of "National Sixth Emission Standard" and "Fourth-stage Fuel Consumption Standard for Passenger Cars",low-viscosity engine oil has become the focus of engine oil research,and low-viscosity engine oil can reduce energy consumption and improve fuel economy of automobiles.In addition,due to the rising international oil price,fuel economy has also become an important factor restricting the use cost of vehicles.Therefore,the study of low viscosity engine oil has great significance to the fuel economy of passenger cars.Based on the trend of low viscosity of engine oil and its influence on automobile fuel economy,this paper studies and analyzes the factors affecting passenger car fuel economy.Through the screening of base oil and additives,a variety of low viscosity oils of SP 0W-16 grade with antifriction and antiwear properties are prepared with RFM3000,SK3115 and PV611 as antifriction agents.SP 0W-16,which has passed the engine bench verification and driving test abroad,is used as the reference oil.In the research process,several test instruments such as four-ball friction and wear tester,liquid rheometer and SRV friction and wear tester are used for research and analysis.The specific work and conclusions are as follows:(1)The influence of low-viscosity engine oil on improving automobile fuel economy is discussed,the lubrication risk factors caused by low-viscosity engine oil due to the decrease of oil film thickness on engine moving friction pair are analyzed,and the necessity of optimizing engine oil formula is put forward.(2)Two directions to improve engine fuel economy are put forward: reducing engine oil viscosity and optimizing additive formula by using friction improver.Several different types of common friction improvers were selected to prepare a variety of test oils.The results show that the test oil RFM3000,a molybdenum dialkyl dithiocarbamate Mo DTC type antifriction agent independently synthesized and developed by Xinxiang Ruifeng,has the best effect and the antifriction effect is very remarkable.(3)Using SRV friction and wear tester,the working conditions of cam-tappet friction pair and piston ring-cylinder wall friction pair under boundary lubrication were simulated and tested,and the influence of lubricating oil viscosity on the friction coefficient and wear degree of these two friction pairs was studied.The results show that the test oil with 0.08%RFM3000 antifriction agent can reduce the friction coefficient and wear amount of the engine,and under certain conditions,it shows better antifriction and antiwear effect than the reference oil 0W-16.(4)The research results have the independent intellectual property rights of domestic additive enterprises,and have certain guiding significance for the domestic substitution of SP0W-16 viscosity grade engine oil,which will be widely used in new vehicles.At present,the research results have been applied to the formulation system of SP 0W20 products produced by this enterprise with SP grade engine oil compound.
