The Impact Of Energy Imports On Industrial Structure Upgrading

As a powerful driving force for economic growth and social development,energy maintains the economic operation of society,occupies a pivotal position in modernization,and is also an important issue that must be faced by national or regional development.Under the conditions of economic openness,international energy trade is of great significance to affect the change of industrial structure.China’s Yangtze River Economic Belt region includes 11 major provinces and cities,namely Shanghai,Jiangsu,Zhejiang,Anhui,Jiangxi,Hubei,Hunan,Chongqing,Sichuan,Guizhou and Yunnan,which can be regarded as the epitome of China’s industrial development to a certain extent.Through reading and summarizing the relevant literature on the Yangtze River Economic Belt region,the author analyzes the impact of energy imports on industrial structure upgrading in the region.Firstly,this paper analyzes the current situation of energy imports and industrial structure upgrading in the Yangtze River Economic Belt,and uses the equivalent method to calculate the total energy import levels of the main 11 provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2009 to 2019,and draws on the practices of scholars Fu Linghui and Gan Chunhui in the selection of advanced and rational measurement indicators for industrial structure upgrading.Secondly,through Bayesian vector autoregressive model and panel linear regression model,the impact of energy imports on industrial structure upgrading in the Yangtze River Economic Belt region as a whole and by basin is analyzed.Finally,based on the current situation and empirical results,this paper gives some countermeasures and suggestions.The main conclusions of this paper are:(1)from 2009 to 2019,the demand for major energy in the Yangtze River Economic Belt has always been expanding,the degree of advanced and rationalization of industrial structure is basically on the rise,and the upgrading and optimization of industrial structure in the Yangtze River Economic Belt has been continuously improved;(2)On the whole of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,the total amount of energy imports has a significant role in promoting the rationalization and upgrading of the industrial structure of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,which is manifested as a promotion in the short term and a inhibitory effect in the long term.For the upgrading of the industrial structure of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,including advanced and rationalization,the roles of the influencing variables studied in this paper except energy imports are also different,some are always manifested as positive promotion and negative inhibition,and there are also short-term positive impact followed by long-term negative inhibition,and short-term negative inhibition followed by long-term positive promotion.(3)In different basins of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,the relevant influencing variables play different short-term and long-term effects on the industrial structure of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,and the positive and negative impacts are also different,with differences in the basin region,and the advantages and shortcomings of the upper,middle and lower reaches are not the same.
